Well, aside from the implied "piracy!" here are a few legitimate ways to nail it:

1) 4 or 5 HD Netflix / Hulu / YouTube streams. (That's called "Having a family" ;P )
2) Downloading software you've purchased online. Steam, Microsoft, Blizzard, DigitalRiver, I've seen them all max my 30Mb connection.
3) Downloading something from work.
4) Downloading an online backup / dropbox/ etc.
5) Mixing any of the above together or with "normal" web use

And those are just things I did today that maxed my connection. Not constantly, but peak use.

Also, don't forget, a lot of the time someone will buy a "higher speed" connection, sold based on the download speed, because they need higher UPLOAD speed. I pay for 50 down, not because I need 50 down, but because I have a need for 10up. (work related stuff.) I'd go for the 100 down, except that it only offers 10 up. If they bumped that to 20, I'd be there!

Just thought I'd throw in my experience:

I called the number and got this deal:

Blast Internet (up to 25 Mbps) with their basic cable service (CSR said channels 2-32) for $29.99/month. The CSR said nothing about a time limit or contract being required.

How were you able to get this? I called 3 times and chat once but they all said this promo doesn't exist or it is only for current customers. I'm in San Jose, CA.

Called from Houston - $40/mo for a year for Performance or $30/mo for a year for Blast, but the Blast came with a 3-year commitment and jumped up after the first 12 months.

Finally after 4 failed attempts on phone and 2 on chat, I found a rep on the phone who had at least heard about the deal. He could not get it for me, but he transferred me to the department that could. 19.99 for 12 months with 25$ installation. According to this rep who transferred my call, looks like what was happening is every time I called, my call was getting redirected to 1800-comcast and those guys cannot give you this promotion. This promotion is mostly run either by a third party or by a seperate dept, so when you call, you somehow need to end up on the number on the flyer. If you get redirected, you are pretty much not going to get the deal.

No, I am from Redwood City, CA. I was calling the number on the flyer all the time, but internally I seemed to be getting transferred to the reps who handle 1800-comcast. I did not know about this till the last rep I talked to told me that I was talking to 1800-comcast and not the number I had dialled. He then mentioned something about third party handing it and a hotline and transferred me to it. Once I got transferred it was all smooth and I got the deal w/o any back and forth bargaining. Also, all other times, I had tried calling was before 5pm PST, this was the only time I called after 5. So I don't know if the routing happens differently after business hours. Worth a try I wud say.

Damn it....Comcast doesn't exist in the area I live, it's only Mediacom for cable internet, and they are expensive!!

About the only other option is Quest DSL, and the other way to get a decent price from them is sign a contract and bundle with a home phone, which I dont need.

Damn good deal for those who can use it. I am gonna thumbs up this deal for those people.
