UPDATE 2/25/2012 - Got another flier(cost me $15-and i only mentioned to few people so far(read update 2/21 below) for the same offer with a new Expiration date(3/18/2012), whats better is this offer has a different phone number - so try the new number if got shot down on the number from 1st flier. Both fliers are current as of today and attached on the bottom.

UPDATE 2/21/2012 - Reading through the replies - It seems that this thread has helped a lot of SD'ers to receive this(or a similarly slick) offer by either just mentioning the existence of the flier or more commonly faxing/emailing the copy of it to a Comcast rep that asks for it to verify that such a slick offer actually exists. That fact as well as the fact that my neighbors seemingly keep receiving the new versions of this flier on the regular basis(although undetermined interval) gave me an idea. I can try to offer a reward to my entire neighborhood (during a next city hall meet, email list that i can get from local DJ, or just stapling a reward note on a several streets/stores close to my house) in the sum of $15 for each new flier they bring to me - only for the offer i don't already have a flier for (usually means a new/later expiration date and some new/different internal Comcast numbers/codes on it- rest of this offer seems to stay the same(well graphics change as well sometimes)) and only an original flier in the original envelope (to eliminate Photoshoping bounty huntersSmilie. This way i can keep posting new/not yet expired (faxing/emailing expired fliers to Comcast reps will give them a good reason to deny it on the grounds of "that offer is no more") fliers here for my fellow SD'ers. Also if you get a similar flier/offer yourself (or any of your neighbors/friends/relatives do) - post it in this thread and PM me so i can put it into the first/this post(sorry not offering reward for that - but helping fellow SD'ers should be enough of a reward). What do you guys think of this plan? If i get enough reps indicating you think its a good idea - i will offer that reward to keep fliers coming!

UPDATE 2/15/2012 - New Fliers are attached on the bottom (my neighbour got the offer in mail and saved the filer for me) new Expiration is 3/4/2012
UPDATE 2 - Ran some bandwidth tests on this plan - results below

My buddy somehow got the flier for that elusive internet offer that everyone was talking about but i was unable to find anywhere else. Finally got the flier from him and scanned it(sorry about the quality i tried to make it better but my scanner is pretty old and about 5 mins past its expiration date). So far him, his GF, her brother+ his GF and my buds GF's brother's GF's sister(lol-i think i got that right) have successfully signed up by calling the number on the flier(apparently if you just call comcast - they dont know anything about this deal at all). All are in Mass except for the last one- she lives in NH. Out of all only my bud had it installed already-rest are waiting for scheduled appointments(tech to come to house)-but i dont think there will be any problem at this point.

Deal is:
$19.99 a month for 12 months(1 year) and $34.99 for months 13-24(2nd year). Only 1 year agreement(contract) is required so you can cancel right after your bill goes from $20 to $35 in month 13. Best part is - no additional service needs to be purchased(so dont need to sign up for TV or Phone). It is for new customers only(which i think means you didn't have any comcast service for at least last 3 month-not sure on this one though).

Bandwidth Tests on this plan(all ran on 2/15/2012):
Gateway = modem + router in one - (yes i know just modem is less headache but i got real good deal on it and honestly so far it worked perfect as u can see below(same results 24/7 not just offpeak/night).

I just bought new gateway(upgraded from 2 yo SBG900(Docsis2.0(1Down/1UP))) -
Motorola SBG6580 (Docsis3.0 (8channels(4 used ATM) DOWN // 4(1 used ATM) UP) [motorola.com]
FirmWare - SBG6580-3.1.0.0-GA-07-180-NOSH (Old FW(newest is 3.3.1.0 (FW can only be updated by Comcast on gateways and cable modems(thats the reason some people recommend against getting gateways and sticking with 2 separate boxes(cable modem and wire(ed/less) router)- at least FW on the router can be updated by customer then)

All tests on this gateway with this exact plan(Performance(15/3)) ran 2/15/2012:

Just confirming for others that I also called the 0903 number at was offered the $29.99 promo for 12 months with the 2nd year jumping to $44.99. I was told there was no contract or ETA. And that if I wanted to upgrade to blast, it would only be $10 more. This was done in CA, Bay Area on the Peninsula. Also wanted to note that I had previously cancelled my Comcast service 2 weeks ago when my $19.99/month deal expired and had no trouble re-adding service using all the same info.

Cancel your service and wait for it to be disconnected, then call the 0903 number and get the $29.99 promotion for 12 months. Worked for many of us, including myself.

when u cancel how long do u wait to call back? how do u know when they disconnect it?

Got shot down on the 0903 number and was given 877-379-8548 and then got shot down again. Only thing they would offer me was what was on the web site which is a rip.

Any tips?

EDIT: Just tried the Massachusetts specific number too, got shot down for that as well. GUess they really just don't care when they know there's no real competition in the area.

I called back after a week. And you know it's disconnected when the internet isn't working and 1-800-COMCAST doesn't recognize your phone number anymore.

Eh. I've canceled a few times before.
The trick is to use your parents info. They ask for SSN and crap like that. Different name/SSN = different owner.
I switch off periodically for the promotions. Have been working quite well for years now.

Cheers Smilie

just called the 877-298-0903...
got the $29.99 deal for 12 months.
bring my own modem and since the apt already had the service installed
she waived the activation... Norristown, PA

Not as good as 19,99 but 29,99 is the best you can get for 12 months..

pretty sure it was the same day for me...next day at max...if I remember correctly, I cancelled the service, and they told me until what day I had it thru...I called on that day and told them the previous tennants moved out and that I needed service....they insisted I needed a tech to come out, and that I needed a installation kit as well...I got a supervisor to take off the kit after being transferred thru echat...since they wouldn't do the deal without a tech, i scheduled it for like a few days out or a week, i forget....I got the acct number, got online, and activated it myself, and was up in running within 30 mins of the call....I called the next day to cancel the tech as my internet was fine... I had everything documented thru the echat incase they changed their tune regarding pricing as its happened consistently to many on here...

I hate how they insist to install their service.
I had a great comcast rep who ASKED if I needed someone to install it for me.
I said no thank you and he just said "make sure you have proper sturdy cable wiring with insulation" and that's it. He gave me an activation code and everything. Took total of 10 minutes. Job done.

Some reps are great. Some are total rubbish.

I live in Milpitas, CA. I called the 0903 number was offered Performance for 29.99 for 12 months, 44.99 for second year or Blast Plus for 10 extra. Installation is required and it is 39.99. I asked to have it waived but no go.

Any luck for Denver? I'm paying $67/month for ONLY internet, and it's the 20mbit download speed. I'd love to be paying $20/month. We've moved and the service address on my account doesn't match the current address. Maybe we wouldn't be considered an existing customer if I cancel the account in my name and do the new account in my wife's name at the new address.

I called 0903 and for Augusta, GA they could not get me the $29.99 for 12 months. Two people tried on the same call and they said their computer is saying I'm not eligible for the promotion. They offered me $24.95 for 6 months then $44.95 thereafter, no contract. I signed up but still have time to cancel before the "installation" date. Do you think I should call again? She said on the phone that I could call in 6 months and ask for another discount and they should readily give it.

I have Digital Economy cable from comcast. a few questions:

1) when I press ch+/- in the remote, it goes thru all channel no matter I have permission or not. is there a way that I can disable those channels that I don't have permission? I hate to add those available channels one by one to fav.
2) is there any parent control that I can put a list of channels under password?

thanks!

My $19.99 promotion ended after 6 months, and it was supposed to roll over to $34.99, but I was billed for $64.95. I talked to an online Customer Service Rep, and they created an escalation ticket, and said it would take 5 days for the matter to be resolved, and I even showed them the confirmation chat that said $34.99 for months 7-12. But a day later I decided to up and cancel service. I can still get the $29.99 deal if I resubscribe, but I'm holding out for a rep who can offer the $19.99 deal again for Performance. I'll keep everyone updated to what happens in the next few days, or weeks, depending on how long I can hold out without internet.

Update 6/16/2013. After calling 4 customer service reps from the 0903 number, to no avail. They all kept offering me $29.99 for a year. I called a rep this morning and he was able to get me $24.99 for six months. It's not $19.99, like I wanted, but then again it's not $64.95 like they wanted. So it's a tolerable price increase.
