UPDATE 2/25/2012 - Got another flier(cost me $15-and i only mentioned to few people so far(read update 2/21 below) for the same offer with a new Expiration date(3/18/2012), whats better is this offer has a different phone number - so try the new number if got shot down on the number from 1st flier. Both fliers are current as of today and attached on the bottom.

UPDATE 2/21/2012 - Reading through the replies - It seems that this thread has helped a lot of SD'ers to receive this(or a similarly slick) offer by either just mentioning the existence of the flier or more commonly faxing/emailing the copy of it to a Comcast rep that asks for it to verify that such a slick offer actually exists. That fact as well as the fact that my neighbors seemingly keep receiving the new versions of this flier on the regular basis(although undetermined interval) gave me an idea. I can try to offer a reward to my entire neighborhood (during a next city hall meet, email list that i can get from local DJ, or just stapling a reward note on a several streets/stores close to my house) in the sum of $15 for each new flier they bring to me - only for the offer i don't already have a flier for (usually means a new/later expiration date and some new/different internal Comcast numbers/codes on it- rest of this offer seems to stay the same(well graphics change as well sometimes)) and only an original flier in the original envelope (to eliminate Photoshoping bounty huntersSmilie. This way i can keep posting new/not yet expired (faxing/emailing expired fliers to Comcast reps will give them a good reason to deny it on the grounds of "that offer is no more") fliers here for my fellow SD'ers. Also if you get a similar flier/offer yourself (or any of your neighbors/friends/relatives do) - post it in this thread and PM me so i can put it into the first/this post(sorry not offering reward for that - but helping fellow SD'ers should be enough of a reward). What do you guys think of this plan? If i get enough reps indicating you think its a good idea - i will offer that reward to keep fliers coming!

UPDATE 2/15/2012 - New Fliers are attached on the bottom (my neighbour got the offer in mail and saved the filer for me) new Expiration is 3/4/2012
UPDATE 2 - Ran some bandwidth tests on this plan - results below

My buddy somehow got the flier for that elusive internet offer that everyone was talking about but i was unable to find anywhere else. Finally got the flier from him and scanned it(sorry about the quality i tried to make it better but my scanner is pretty old and about 5 mins past its expiration date). So far him, his GF, her brother+ his GF and my buds GF's brother's GF's sister(lol-i think i got that right) have successfully signed up by calling the number on the flier(apparently if you just call comcast - they dont know anything about this deal at all). All are in Mass except for the last one- she lives in NH. Out of all only my bud had it installed already-rest are waiting for scheduled appointments(tech to come to house)-but i dont think there will be any problem at this point.

Deal is:
$19.99 a month for 12 months(1 year) and $34.99 for months 13-24(2nd year). Only 1 year agreement(contract) is required so you can cancel right after your bill goes from $20 to $35 in month 13. Best part is - no additional service needs to be purchased(so dont need to sign up for TV or Phone). It is for new customers only(which i think means you didn't have any comcast service for at least last 3 month-not sure on this one though).

Bandwidth Tests on this plan(all ran on 2/15/2012):
Gateway = modem + router in one - (yes i know just modem is less headache but i got real good deal on it and honestly so far it worked perfect as u can see below(same results 24/7 not just offpeak/night).

I just bought new gateway(upgraded from 2 yo SBG900(Docsis2.0(1Down/1UP))) -
Motorola SBG6580 (Docsis3.0 (8channels(4 used ATM) DOWN // 4(1 used ATM) UP) [motorola.com]
FirmWare - SBG6580-3.1.0.0-GA-07-180-NOSH (Old FW(newest is 3.3.1.0 (FW can only be updated by Comcast on gateways and cable modems(thats the reason some people recommend against getting gateways and sticking with 2 separate boxes(cable modem and wire(ed/less) router)- at least FW on the router can be updated by customer then)

All tests on this gateway with this exact plan(Performance(15/3)) ran 2/15/2012:

pretty sure it was the same day for me...next day at max...if I remember correctly, I cancelled the service, and they told me until what day I had it thru...I called on that day and told them the previous tennants moved out and that I needed service....they insisted I needed a tech to come out, and that I needed a installation kit as well...I got a supervisor to take off the kit after being transferred thru echat...since they wouldn't do the deal without a tech, i scheduled it for like a few days out or a week, i forget....I got the acct number, got online, and activated it myself, and was up in running within 30 mins of the call....I called the next day to cancel the tech as my internet was fine... I had everything documented thru the echat incase they changed their tune regarding pricing as its happened consistently to many on here...
So you cancelled and then signed up and asked them to waived the installation fee....all thru echat (chat on their website)??? I was trying to cancel and was told to call since they don't do cancellation online. What about sign up and asking to waive the installation? can do it all thru online chat?

I cancelled over the phone, sorry...it was way before the last day of the contract..I told them I'd be moving, asked when my last day was, and told them I wanted to make sure it got cut off the last day of the agreement so that I didn't go into the increased rate offer.. signing up, they wouldn't waive it...i went ahead and scheduled the installation tech to come out a f days or a week after, and then I cancelled the tech a day or so after, which wasn't an issue...the contract cancellation, and the tech installation cancellation , was done over the phone...I THINK, i had to call in the MAC Address once, but I don't remember

sorry, yes I did it on echat, but I think I said I called... I've done this a few times actually over the past couple of years...I think twice I called, and got screwed twice, and the last time or 2, I did it over echat... MAC address is kind of like your digital address on your modem...I don't remember if I provided that when I activated it online, or if I called it in to activate

I'd call either the retention specialist or do an online chat to try to get your $50 back. Also, you might be able to swing a deal for a better price on internet as well. They offered me Blast internet at $39.99 for a month, for 12 months, no contract. As an existing customer, it's not the best deal, but good enough for me. They also offered Blast Plus for $49.99, but I don't need economy TV, even for $10 more.

How did you get the deal as existing customer? did you call to cancel your subscription and they offered you that price? or did you do it thru echat?

It was done through echat. The first rep transferred me to the sales team. They offered it to me and I was able to sign up directly online. It's actually only for 6 months though.

My parents who are currently paying full price for economy internet (3Mbps down/768kbps up) at $39.99, were only offered performance internet at $39.99 for 12 full months, or also Performance Starter (6Mbps down) for $29.99 for 12 months.

Went there and it said there are no offers for my area. I look at the going rate and it's $50/mo for 6mbps. What a bunch of crap.

My building is already wired, but Comcast told me that I'd need to pay $10 to have activation codes shipped out. Anyone have the same experience? Also, do they still need to do a hard credit pull like the wiki post from 2011 mentions? Thanks.

I didn't threaten to cancel over chat. I just simply asked what promos my account qualified for.

Yes, I had originally cancelled an account under my wife's name ~ 6 months ago. I signed up for a new promo for performance internet, $29.99 for 6 months. The 6 months was expiring so I logged into the online chat. Asked the rep what current promos are available to me. She transferred me to a sales agent, who offered me the new deal. You can try that route or call Comcast and go through the menu to "cancel service". Should take you to the retentions department and they should be able to offer you something. It's up to you if you want to take their offer. Good luck.
