Thread Details

Since most of the companies are giving discount.. I decided to call Time Warner for some discount..

I been with Time Warner for more then 2 years.. started out with $29.99/month for internet only.. and right now I am paying $44.99+tax so I called them chatted with them NICELY..and told me bill is too much so I am shopping for better deal.. if you can't give me then I might have to go to different provider..

and they gave me $29.99/month for 1 year without contract or any change to my account..

as title say YMMV, If you get discount post it here...

If you guys are having trouble getting the discounted rate. Switch to Earthlink, they offer the same rate and in most cities they use the same infrastructures as Road Runner, basically the same network. If you complain to TW that if they do not provide you the lower rate you just tell them you're going to switch to Earth link. After you switch to Earthlink you can re-sign up to TW. NOTE: Download speeds are nearly the same so just use up the promotion on Earth Link and when you're done switch back to Road Runner, Earth Link does not require a contract so you can cancel anytime also there should be no downtime since you're already using the same modem, all Earth Link would do is switch the dns servers and billing. -Totalfixation

And most importantly WHERE are you located. TWC deals are very region specific.

I just tried, no luck.
Was nice, asked if I was in a contract was looking to lower my bills. She offered me to add a service she could provide a discount. I asked her what I need to do to cancel my service, she provided me with the address to return my equipment.
Guess I will be looking for a new internet provider now.

No luck here. Called like 3,4 times over the last couple of weeks. TW has the worst customer service. I asked if its possible to change the name of my bill to my roommate's to get the new customer discount, she rudely told me its illegal and wouldn't answer my question. Have been paying almost $70 every months for an average of 5-6mbps with occasional 1-2mbps. Enough is enough. Just switched to Windstream for $40 a month.

try again. ask for a retention specialist, they hand out the deals. I got this same deal for 7mb 11 months ago. Gonna do it again in a month. Nothing new.

I'm paying $105 a month for the 30Mbit + HD digital cable w/ DVR bundle.

They offered me some deal on the cable since I only had Road Runner.

I called a few months back and we get internet (regular speed, not slow or turbo) and HD cable with a DVR box and showtime for $90 a month, all taxes included. I'm pretty happy with that Smilie
