Go to your credit union if you absolutely must.

. Why would you want to pay credit card interest rates (19%+ usually) if you can get like a 4% personal loan from your credit union? if you don't belong to a credit union, you SHOULD, so find out which local ones you are eligible for, and join one. Then ask for a personal loan.

If you can't get a personal (signature) loan, perhaps they will give you a loan against your car, if it's free and clear.

We paid around $300 to Citibank for $8000 to use for one year.

If you can pay it off within 12 months, I would do a balance tranfser with an offer of 0% for 12 months. I believe Citibank right now has a credit card that gives you 0% for 21 months which is even better. I would go this route. All you will pay for is the 3-4% of the balance transfer balance. And yes citibank gives you checks so you can simply deposit it into your checking account and you wont be charged a cash advance charge.

If it's something you're 100% good for in 1 year but need the money now, then apply for any number of 0% cards. If you're above 750, then you credit might take a slight hit but then climb back up once you've paid off the balance.

No need for a loan or a balance transfer, both will incur borrowing interest.

The one issue could be getting a card with a $10k limit right off the bat. Everything is negotiable, however.

My FICO was 790 a few months ago. Since, I've taken out two lines of credit and maxed both out a few times and repaid them. I dropped to 760 and then bounced back to 780. Just an fyi so you feel more comfortable about it and help you ignore the boneheads that will try to tell you your score will drop in half or other asinine comments.

They will charge you 2.9 percent which is 290 dollars and BC your are paying it off with in a year the CC won't charge you. If you don't have a year left of 0 percent interest then sign up for a new one.

Amazon limits you to 1000 a month so its a pain to set up 10 plus accounts to take the money out.
