Help choosing the best Credit Card - Spend $2-5k/mo on card...
Hi everyone-
I'm hoping someone more knowledgable on this topic can help me out - I'm looking for a new credit card and want to make sure I capitalize on the best initial offer / ongoing card benefits for my spending habits. I currently use my Discover cashback bonus card for just about everything, I spend between $2-5k a month on the card and do not carry a balance - always paid in full. I have zero credit card debt and a credit score in the high 700s. I've always used Discover because I just purely used my cashback bonus to offset my charges - good as cash.
As I read around this site, I see a lot of offers from Chase like the current Sapphire Preferred thread, or some of the Amex Gold card threads as of late. I prefer to use one card for the majority of my spending, and soon I am going to make a series of large purchases as I remodel my kitchen. I'm expecting to spend $50-60k on this project, I'd guess about half on the card for materials. All of this will be paid off in full immediately, so I am not worried about the interest rate on the card - I really just want to maximize my points/cashback/miles (whatever the card offers). I have been hesitant to get an airline card as I always have used expedia/travelocity with nice results for good deals on airfare and accomodations. - should I rethink this strategy? I usually take one or two airfare-involved vacations per year.
So, knowing a bit about my situation and what I need out of a card, I'm open to hear recommendations on which card best suits my spending habits - especially in the next 6 mos. as I make a significant amount (for me) of purchases on the card. My income is good, credit is good, I should be particularly creditworthy and qualify for a better tier of credit card if such thing exists. I am also open to a card with an annual fee if I can justify the benefits of the card terms in exchange for the fee.
Thanks in advance for your help!

The SPG card rocks if you want to use it for free hotel stays or even transfers to airline miles. Going to Maui/Kaui for 20 days in a week on them so I personally LOVE the card.
