Best place would be to check with a copy center. The price for recycled cardboard is pretty high so some places aren't giving boxes out right now.

You can check a store like Staples and Office Depot and talk to their manager.

Staples in my area sells them for $1 a box.

I used to work at the Staples Copy Center...go there around closing time and they refill all the paper in the copy machines and other places so they usually have a few of them then. We just gave them to people if they asked. But, as stated above, different staples have different policies. But, your best bet would be what i said.

Actually your best bet would be to hit up your local printers. My family has a run a Print/Copy shop for over 20 years, and lemme tell ya there are paper boxes to be found and gotten rid of. Even on a slow day you can blow through 4-6 reams of paper and at that rate the boxes pile up. So long as you aren't bothersome they will probably let you snag a few.
