Yes, there are grand opening sales. Usually you get in your mail or local papers some decent coupons too. I suggest getting a green bag tag to use instead of their bags. ( a recycled green bag works great). Tags usually sell for $ .99. ( any bag will work). Also get an extracare card and use it every time. Organize your coupons. It is so worth the time invested in finding the deals. Yes, read all the info here to help you! welcome to CVs world! Scan your card every time in the store until is says something like No more coupons available. Don't just stop after the first scan at the red machine! |

I don't purchase in volumes nearly as high, but if I believe in CVS's receipt tallies, I've racked up about $50,000 in savings over 4 years of CVSing, and I've never received a quarterly reward in my life. (I've never filled a prescription either though.) I got really close once due to diabetes meters, but then at the very end of the quarter, I redeemed for some gas cards that brought my quarterly tally back down to 0.

CVS is the easiest of the drug stores for me. They do have limits on most of the ECB deals but they are reasonable for a personal-use shopper. You can stack their Red Box Qs with MQs and $1 for every 4 times you use your green bag tag. If you can navigate RA, CVS will be like candy for you! |

Never paid for a coupon in my life (not even a newspaper)...I get 1 set of RP and P&G in the weekly junk mail, and I get 1 set of SS in the freebie delivery newspaper. Have access to print IPs from 3 computers. It's enough for me and plenty easy to get to $10K savings at CVS alone each year working with such limited coupons. It means I have to skip out on most of the bigger deals (e.g., I rarely do buy $30 get $10 deals because I just don't have enough coupons to get to $30), but hey, I hate working with large EBs anyway. Not sure what I'll do if/when I move to a region that doesn't mail out free inserts and doesn't have free newspapers though...I'm just so against the idea of buying coupons that I doubt I'd even be able to talk myself into ever buying a newspaper.
