I only got 2 rainchecks in the past year. Never used either one.
15 minutes after I got the first raincheck, I found the item at the store less than a mile down the street. 2nd raincheck, I stopped looking for the GatorAid G Series because the reviews of the taste were so poor. I probably could have found them if I bothered looking for the rest of the week. The only item I have had a real problem finding is the current Reinventing Beauty magazine. |

Slow weeks with ECB expiring are when I pull out my RC. Sometimes too, I'll get a good CRT that dovetails nicely with a raincheck I have. I shop all 3 drug stores and I find that CVS seems to have the longest dry spells. Sometimes RC are the only thing that keep my ECB going. Same here. None in my area. I still have my stupid CRT that expired last week. ![]() Blinkie alert: $1/1 Aquafresh, Sensodyne or Sensodyne Pronamel toothpaste 4.0 oz. or larger. Found these in the toothpaste aisle. They weren't there last week. ISO: Box Tops For Education & Campbell's Labels For Education. Let's trade!
Thanks to Rydergal for 13k! ![]() Why is a raven like a writing desk? ![]() |

I love CVS rc's too.
I am terrible about asking to have them written though. I did make sure to get rc's for the AirWick though and while I was at it, the allergy stuff and aspirin........they come in very handy. Some weeks there's no way to roll without them. I have some super jedi stores though, so I don't always need to roll. ![]() Why doesn't it surprise me that people are stealing them? ![]() My cashiers move around to other stores also, so good luck to folks who think they're going to fool someone! They'll be the fool, for sure. ![]() My cashiers fill out everything and generally attach the ad to the rc, the section that describes the deal. If they are in a hurry, I politely insist they fill out everything.

I usually just check out RA for ice cream, clearance & tear pads. ![]() & it is going get tougher for me --- a WALMART is going in my aunt's neighborhood so I will probably be able to go to Hellmart once a week. I already shop Kmart & Target at least weekly. |

I would be lost without my Rainchecks. Here's why:
1.) Sometimes, you can double dip. 2.) Manually printed ECBs take off tax. 3.) I can use them as fillers for $/$$ and/or roll ECBs. I often stop in several times a week, at different stores, just to get the rainchecks. BTW, I always have the cashier fill out the RC completely...no blanks. Also, I have them write in the number for quantity rather than a numerical number. Makes the RC more official.
Did you remember to ask for your rainchecks today?

Rose, you'd better quit your job and focus on all those stores! Lots of deals to be had. Lately I've been focusing on CVS, RA & Wags and less on the grocery stores. Grocery store deals are going the way of the dinosaur here thanks to EC. I don't do the big box stores much unless I'm in the mood for frustration or aggravation.

Mind you, they don't have a dedicated staffer for the ice cream area --- depending on who is busy, you might get a stocker, the photo person or the front cashier to scoop the ice cream. & unlike the liquor dept, they serve ice cream 24 hrs in the 24 hr stores so you can have ice cream after the clubs close on Sunset blvd. Anyway, the Rite Aid (Thrifty) ice cream is a holdover from when they acquired the Thrifty chain. Thrifty drug stores was better known for their ice cream bar than their pharmacy.

I want Thrifty ice cream! Why isn't there a temper tantrum smiley?
I forgot to tell you guys this (since it is a chat thread, after all). Today I went to CVS to do the baby deal, use my free candy coupon and do the Benefiber deal. When I arrived there was a paratransit bus pulled up in front letting off an older lady with a walker. She was very old and had trouble walking. She smiled at me, I smiled at her and I went on my way. I did my shopping and she had just checked out when I was getting ready to pay. She asked the cashier if she could use the store phone and I heard her say "Two hours? But I have to take medicine in an hour. No, I can't walk that far. I use a walker." She sat down and I could tell she was very upset. She was still sitting there as I paid and she commented that my twins were cute. We struck up a conversation about the kids and I could tell she was getting very tired from being on her feet. I asked her if I could give her a ride somewhere. I've never, ever let a stranger in my car, especially not with my children there, but I could tell she was in a spot and needed help. She said she'd be very grateful if I could help her out. I packed up her walker in my SUV and we drove the 6 blocks to her place. She told me her name was Charlotte and she was almost 85. She drove up till two years ago when she had a stroke when she had open heart surgery. Now she depends on paratransit which sometimes has long delays. She was so, so nice and very grateful. She hugged me when I dropped her off at her assisted living place and helped her get in the building. Poor thing had gone to CVS for meds and some incontinence products, so her bag was heavy and awkward. She also insisted I take $1 because that's what the paratransit costs for seniors. I told her I didn't want to take it but she insisted. I asked her if it was ok if I gave it to my 6 year old when he got home from school and she said she'd love that. Anyway, we were saying how we'd never gone anywhere with a stranger before. I said: "There are too many weird-os in the world." She said: "I'm kind of a weird-o sometimes." ![]() I said: "Yeah, but you're not going to chop me up and put me in a suitcase on the side of the road." She said: "No, I'm not strong enough to carry a suitcase with a body in it." ![]() She was such a nice lady. She had me smiling the rest of the day. Funny how doing something nice for someone else can make you feel so good sometimes. |

I'd be lost without my rc's and jedi stores. Right now I'm having fun at CVS. Most of the cashiers now handwrite out the number, as opposed to just the number or they do the # in () and then write it out! I like them that way, as there are no questions as to what, how many and when!

I have a super jedi manager at a RA. He literally rips the sale item out of the ad, initials it and puts a qty. # on it.
They can only be redeemed in his store, but I think that's why he does it. I do have other RA's that know him and will accept them, but it's comical to put a picture on the table and say, "here's my rc".
