$30 merchandise
$2 tax

$32 grand total

Subtract out the value of any MQ's and CVS Q's you are using. The remaining balance is the max amount of ECB's you can hand over.

Be sure to account for any tax reducing ECB's you may be using. My tax rate here is 9%, so I automatically count my $5 beauty club ECB's as $5.45 ($5 plus they remove $.45 in tax). Keeping that in mind will help you get as close as possible without going under 0.

Does that help?
It helps, thanks Smilie . Didn't realize ecb reduce tax.
I have looked over several trx and still cannot get the exact same values for the tax they charged. I know food is a different rate and they show which items are at that rate...and it still does not add up for me. I guess if my values are pretty close that may be good enough.

I think it is still too complicated for me at this point, tho.

Ok, before I call CVS, I have a question: I know that by now I should have received $10 in Extra Beauty bucks, in the cvs site the total of my beauty summary is correct, but they did not post my beauty bucks in my profile. I'm thinking that maybe they are so swamped, that it takes more that the usual 2 days before they posted the rewards? Anyone else with this problem? TIA

Not all ecbs reduce tax, so you will need to pay attention to which ones you are using. Green bag tag, Beauty Club and manually printed ones will reduce your tax. Regular ecbs will just deduct the amount that they are printed for, and won't touch the tax. HTH

Your subtotal went negative because of the CG which was bogo50. If you have items that are bogo, bogo50, b2g1, etc. in your order, your subtotal can go negative even if your card is scanned first and even if you give EB's last. I make sure I always include these items in every single order so that I never pay more than about 30 cents OOP
oh i paid with some manual ecb so that might have been why I went negative
so theres another loophole in you have b1gx in your transaction?so whats the reason for it to go negative?
I know about using the b1g1 free mfq on an item that is on sale b1g1% off that if it has less than the maximum amount the mfq autodeducts
thanks for trying to explain it to me!

Ugh, found out while doing my BF shopping just now that SCOs at my favorite store won't aceept ECBs of $2 or more without cashier intervention. Don't know about MQs- all of mine were <$2. The cashier didn't know what was going on; I figured out the $2 threshold through trial and error. This is going to be a problem.
I ran into this problem, as well! It also appears that SCO won't accept more than 1 like coupon. It scans but then prompts for assistance. I've had some nice cashiers just scan their card and push the coupons through, while some others asked me what I was doing to cause it to prompt for assistance so many times, and another simply refused to accept my 2nd like coupon. I used to go out of my way to visit stores with SCO but now I might reconsider. Frown

I had a very unusual shopping day today. Went to my near by CVS where I usually shop, got cheerios, wet n wild and 2 Dry idea deo (had a RC for couple of weeks back). I went in Sunday early morning that sale day(dry Idea deo) and the shelf was bare. So I got RC for limit 10. Since then I have found only 2 at a time twice, so other cashiers have crossed out and wrote 8. The previous cashier messed up RC , so she wrote new one mentioning limit 8. Today after my purchase, I asked for the RC, saying that I can still use it later time and he can cross out the limit and write new limit.

He bluntly refused to do so Roll Eyes (Sarcastic). I thought he was confused( he was actually SM), but clearly knows that the product was OOS when I came in that day. I repeatedly said to him that the ad did not have any limit stated and they were OOS the day the sale started and that's why I got the RC and I need my RC back since I have not bought the limit that the RC stated. He repeatedly said that "we can not give you back the RC, since you now got the sale price"Confused"

I told him politely that I have been couponing 3 years and never had a problem with these kinda of RC. They were 3 men behind me in the line. It was not a big deal for me get back the RC, but I was not ready to give up my stand since I was pretty sure that he came up with the excuse just then.Annoyed He said that they don't do that. I asked him if he could keep the RC separately, so that I can talk to the Manager about it, and he said he wouldn't do that too.ShockingAngry I asked that if all the Managers, SMs & cashiers who's been doing that is wrong? and his answer was "yes". Finally he said that he will put the RC separately and I can talk to manager when he's here.

Anyone had problem like this? I have never had any problem, I have had Managers help cashiers to strike out the limit and put an initial.

Pixie, my stores will no longer just cross out the amount and give it back, but they will rewrite the RC with the reduced quantity remaining. But...they will do this only if they don't have enough product to fulfill the RC and therefore I have to clear the shelf...being courteous and leaving some stock is no longer important Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Reps are back...for now. Stick Out Tongue I owe loads of gratitude to everyone that got me where I am! Read the *NEW* CVS FAQ and post your questions there. Let's keep the deal threads deal-related, please.
Would it kill you to read the wiki? Or to read the thread? All the experts got to where they are by reading...you can too.

I'm pretty sure they need that slip of paper in their drawer so they can account for why they did the price modification. If they're crossing out the limit and rewriting it, then handing that same raincheck back to you, they have absolutely no record that you used that raincheck for that transaction and why the price mod was made. I would think that whoever's doing that for you can get in a lot of trouble for that.

I understand if they want to keep a record and want to write me a new RC with a new limit. It is a much better option for me as well. But he refused to do anything at all. His explanation was that I already got the sale price today so I can't get my RC back. I wouldn't do anything that would cause trouble to cashiers. As I mentioned before, two of the Store Managers have helped cashiers to do so. I don't think there are getting in to trouble.

Well, yesterday I bought a box of First Response Ovulation Test. When I was trying to open the box, noticed that it had expired in July. I paid for it with EB so not sure what to do now, there were no more in the shelf, I got the last one. Any advise???? Thank you!
