Feel free to discuss complaints, shopping trips, etc.......CVS related and off topic too! I'm hoping this will unclog the weekly threads a bit. Smilie

Warning on CVS brand batteries!

One of my daughter's toys needed new batteries, so I grabbed 3 of the CVS brand AAA ones that were FAEB on Thanksgiving. Hubby put them in and the darned thing still didn't work. So of course I accused Hubby of putting them in wrong! I opened the toy up again and one of the batteries was super hot and leaking! Fortunately, it didn't ruin the toy, but I threw all 4 batteries out, cleaned up the toy and used Duracell. Working perfectly now. nod

I'd save the batteries and call CVS CS... that is NOT supposed to happen.

CVS batteries are made by Duracell.

Maybe not to the same standards?

I have never had that kind of problem with cvs batteries. But i do know that my mom uses them in her walkman and said they don't last nearly as long as duracell or energizer.

I have no idea who makes them, but they were #1 on the Consumer Reports list of what items to NOT buy at CVS Wink

I'd return them too (if you haven't already threw them out), after all CVS branded items can be returned at any time for refund if not completely satisfied.

I was at a CVS but not one of my usual haunts. Noticed EVERY single fragrance gift set on display had clear packaging tape wrapped around the boxes east-west, north-south -- completely around the packages. Made the packages ugly & slightly obscured the clear plastic windows that most of the gift sets had.

Really?! I know shoplifting can be a problem but who would want to give a gift that looked like that?

And this was a CVS that was on the same block as a police station! What kind of idiot thief works in a place that is likely to have LAPD cops dropping in for snacks etc...

Stopped by a nearby Ralphs (Kroger) looking for the infamous Sierra Mist blinkie for a SD coupon buddy. Bottles are on sale for $0.99 & the blinkies with $1/1 bottle were still functional -- go figure. Although I could see why one of the machines was still full.... (two Sierra Mist blinkie machines in one store)... take a look at the placement of this machine... behind a pole on one side, behind a sign on the other side & with a pile of transport holders in front.

Did you all see the $0.75/1 Huggies wipes 184-216ct blinkies at CVS. I think those are new although they haven't taken down the $1/1 Herbal Essence or $1/1 Always blinkie machines yet (not empty yet anyway).

Those feelings will ebb and flow. I've been doing this awhile now, and this feeling comes and goes, depending on the deals, the employees at the stores, etc.
Ditto! The employees at my store just shake their heads every time I say that soon they will no longer see me. I am actually happy when the deals are bad so I can just buy something. How are doing Smomma!

Are there any coupons for fragrance gift sets? Is it better to wait out till chrismas clearance to score better deals or usually can make a good deal with ECB? I see there is a ECB offer this week for fragrance sets.

TIA

I got it yesterday so I guess that would be "last week" - I didn't go today.

I got a $7/1 CRT for "white diamonds, curve, britney spears, or mariah carey". Not sure when it printed but mine expires 12/17.

Does CVS have a new return policy requiring an ID for ALL returns, even if you have a receipt! EEK!

I was in line behind an older lady who was trying to return a bottle of Tums. She had a receipt and she showed the cashier that the bottle was still sealed, hadn't been opened. The cashier asked for her ID and she said she didn't think she needed her ID if she had a receipt so she hadn't brought it. So then the cashier asked for her phone number, said she needed some way to "track" it. Confused The lady hesitated, saying she didn't want to give out her phone number. So I spoke up and said she shouldn't have to give her phone number if she has a valid receipt. Then I pointed to the gray sign on the counter that outlines the return policy and noted that it said nothing about a phone number or ID if you have a valid receipt. The cashier finally backed down and the customer thanked me, but seriously, WTF? Is this a new policy and CVS just hasn't updated their signs yet?

Oh, Rose, I am always so jealous of all your cool TPs and blinkie finds Crying2 Are the Sierra Mist blinkies at Kroger only? I need to find me some of these! I got some free Sierra Mist cranberry a few years ago and it's delicious!
