He has no power over you. He cannot legally ban you from his store unless it is due to theft. This is was a deal by CVS that they activated. Talk to district. He may have been mad about it but he cannot stop you from shopping at CVS. If they won't resolve it, contact your state Attorney general.

DISHONEST IS DISHONEST, no matter how you try to justify it

I'm sure they do, but in today's litigious society, they better have a very good reason. Otherwise, couldn't a customer claim discrimination? For example, he refused to let me shop at his store because I am black/gay/Catholic/female/fat/etc.

I am not a lawyer, but I doubt "she bought 12 Nivea tins" would qualify as a "very good reason."

I am not even going there, all I am saying is that, that statement is on a lot of CVS' print material. As well as many other companies too.

I keep waiting for a couponing lawyer to challenge stores like Target and their policies.

I don't have a problem with a store that wants to limit quantities to EVERYONE. I have a problem with a store that limits quantities to couponers and no one else. You could replace the word "couponer" with any other ethnicity, minority etc and it would scream lawsuit.

You have a good point. What if some non-couponer came in who wanted to buy 12? I'm guessing they wouldnt have any issues with her/him for doing so. It's when you whip out the printables or inserts that they jump to a different tune.

I'm sharing this across the chat threads because it's an issue that I'm very passionate about. If you own a cell phone or are considering purchasing one, please sign THIS [whitehouse.gov] petition.

For those that might not be aware, as of January 26 it became illegal to unlock your cell phone, EVEN THOUGH YOU OWN IT!!! Story HERE [pcworld.com].

<snip>That decision was made not by voters, the courts, or even Congress. It was made by one man, 83-year-old Congressional Librarian James Hadley Billington, who is responsible for interpreting the meaning of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). Billington decided last October that unlocking your phone yourself is a violation of the Act, which was originally written to prevent digital piracy.

<snip>Hays says that when LTE phones become more common, the issue of unlocking becomes even more important. Today, when you unlock an AT&T (GSM) phone, your only real option is to go to T-Mobile, which uses the same cellular technology. But when all carriers have converted over to the new LTE networks, the owner of an unlocked LTE phone has a choice of four major carriers and a number of regional ones. Hays says the carriers may have worked hard to get an unlocking ban to protect themselves against widespread unlocking and massive "churn" in the (LTE) future.

My in-laws called me this morning from a Verizon store in South FL where they are considering purchasing iPhones. I told them to ask if the phone comes unlocked and the rep told them "no" but it's not a big deal. My in-laws travel the world and it would be in their best interest to have unlocked phones. I asked to speak with the rep and he told me that Verizon would gladly unlock their new iPhones .... for $150 per device. EEK! I told them to buy a Nokia ... they come unlocked.

You don't have a Kroger, but Kroger is the same way as Target. If I don't have Qs, I can buy 40 of one item. If I have Qs, I can buy five (depending on the wording on the Qs themselves) of that same one item.

Lucky you! I can buy three. Ridiculous.

Rant:

Doesn't anyone read? It's really not that hard! Everyone is busy, everyone has lives but the majority of us read! We also use a convenient button called SEARCH.

I was new at one point too (obviously), but I read, read, read and read some more PRIOR to asking a question!

Some of the questions being asked or statements being made were posted like a few posts up, or at the most a page back. Fer cryin' out loud people - at least SKIM read the thread!
