Feel free to discuss complaints, shopping trips, etc.......CVS related and off topic too! I'm hoping this will unclog the weekly threads a bit. Smilie

ymmv, there was whole shelf of the Lifesavers, I think the guy had just put them out.

Wave Welcome to SD and CVS!

There's a clearance thread here, which is where this should be reported.

The wiki of every weekly thread should have a link to it, and lots of other helpful CVS threads, case you can't find it.

Good luck in your deals!

It is just as easy. Frankly, I think it is the easiest of the big 3. Get your card, sign up for your email, try your luck at the magic red box, and have them pay you to take stuff out of their store.

I like the way that sounds Smilie I can't rep for another 24 hours, but I will when I can....okay and shoot me if this is some place and I just missed it - but can you roll ECB's on the same deals like you can at RA?

Edit because I don't know if that makes sense..... i.e. if you earned an ECB on garnier can you use it on garnier and get another ECB (assuming the limit is more than 1)

Yes. ECB operate just like UPR. It is very easy to transition between the two. (Sometimes it is too easy; the person in line in front of me was asking the cashier about using her UPR shake head )

CVS doesn't have as clear of a coupon policy (that I can find anyway), but is, in my limited experience, even more coupon friendly than RA. One of the nicest features is the longer expiration for ECBs. They also have nice little "extras" like the beauty club and the green bag tag which require very little from you, but add up nicely. And, it may be that I have an odd sample, but I have use five CVSs that are close to me and not run into a coupon problem with any of them (knock on wood).

It is switching between these two and WAGs that causes the real mental gymnastics.

hey Stitch-you were asking about some JF Qs found in a norcal MDA book.
I have a few extra books
you think maybe we can do a chain-I mail several to one person, & they mail some of those to another. I don't really need anything in trade but it would help on the postage.
Anyone else interested, these are $5/2 JF Qs exp 12-31-11

Wave

I had a couple of 4/20s that came up as already used.
both times I asked the clerk for the pre-tax total and they said "let's just see if it scans"
said I needed more stuff and I added more stuff but then said "used on (same day I was using it)"
so does an attempt to use one put it in the system, like when RA UP rewards were new?
or
if they were already used but I'm under $20, just the "under $20" message will show up?

The 1st one is now junk, & the 2nd one it looked like he overrode but it didn't show up on my receipt Sadwalk
I never get red box Qs & nice SDer sent me these

I'd love some books! Smilie Can they be chopped up? I started doing that with the RA marathon books in the summer. I can't even tell you how many of those I sent out. I understand how quicky the postage adds up. PM me on that one.

The 4/20.........I wrote about that in last weeks thread. I had my order all together and it was the last day to use the Cottonelle wipe freebie coupons, so I used those to get to 20.00, or so I thought. Confused I always put the 4/20 on top, so she scanned it and it said my order wasn't 20.00. Apparently the wipes were on sale. It made for a very awkward moment, as I added the free candy bar, whcih was then ringing up 1.19, so I paid for the free candy bar, but there was a very large line behind me and she was the only register. Frown As soon as it's scanned, whether the computer accepts it or not it's deactivated. The store pushed it through, since they accept expired's anyway, but it wasn't a great moment.

I know the 4/20 will scan at 19.96 without issue though. I've seen reports of 19.91, but the lowest I tried, after reading the 19.91, was 19.96 and was glad I didn't have to scurry for a filler. nod

Love it! Now I'll just have to get my organization together - I will probably get a card for my MIL as I do her RA shopping too, but I don't have to worry about UPs and cards being linked, so that will be a little different.

On a side note can you use an emailed $/$$ on a different card? I just signed up and got a 4/20, but it expires at the end of the month and I don't think I'll end up using it. I'd liek to RAOK it if I can.

I believe it will beep as "not for card" or something like that. Personally, I avoid them, but others have had luck using them.

Alright well I'll hold on to it then....thanks again!!

I feel like a super geek that I'm kinda excited about this, RA has been profitable for me lately - but they are kind of a hassle. The thought of a more coupon informed/ friendly store has me excited.

Edit: and by profitable I mean I have more UPs than I started with and stuff I actually use... LMAO

13 digit barcodes can be used on any card. 12 digit barcodes are card specific. Check out the wiki of the CVS Coupon thread for more info.

Actually I've been dependent on the library for internet for years....Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm not sure this reason would satisfy these managers. After all, if I can print at the library, I can do send to card there too, right?

I told the last manager it was because printed copies allow me to more readily remember what offers I have and decide when to use them - he countered with, If I select send to card, I will get a message at the register asking if I want to use the offer now or save it for my next transaction. I don't know if this is correct, I've never done send to card...

I've never encountered it but I'd just tell them you only have internet access at the library and don't get there often. Wink Not everyone has 24/7 access to a computer (although I can't imagine not having it).

I don't know if you can check offers that are on your card from the website, but if you can I would counter with:

"Because I don't have internet at home to check the offers on my card I wouldn't necessarily remember what was on there when writing out my shopping list/ putting my Q's together - thus it is better when I have all of those things printed out and right in front of me, then I don't forget and screw something up. Thanks for your help though, it would be great if I had internet at home...."
