Prayer Request Thread.

kmac 15 July 29, 2004 at 01:56 PM
I'm changin my post now since my papaw is home and feeling better now. This thread is for anyone to use and post their own requests. Lux took my post from another thread and made this a separate thread just for that reason. Please do not hesitate to make requests cause you might be surprised at the support you will get from the loungers!!

Here is my original request...
Sorry I know this is off-topic but there seem to be some religious people in here right now.

Please say a prayer for my grandfather cause my mom just called and said he just called her and she is taking him to the emergency room. He is having pains (chest, I believe). It scares me cause he had a heart attack last summer and then a 5 bypass surgery. So now I'm heading to meet them at the hospital. Thanks!

I heart my Papaw!

Try taking some vitamin D supplements, when your stress levels are high, and lord knows yours have been high lately, your body can often stop processing vitamin D effectively, leading to more problems and a deeper depression. My vitamin D level was very low for a while there and the doctor prescribed 5,000 iu for a few months. Now my levels are better and I take 1,000 iu daily.
Is that 5000 daily?

Yes, 5,000 daily but only because my levels were so low. Once it was back up, she dropped it to 1,000 per day.

Have you read about the 5 steps of grief? knowing about these after my father died helped me to understand that the things I was feeling were okay and a part of the process. You may repeat steps, stay in some longer than others and no one feels quite the same as anyone else. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Here's a link you may want to check out:

My Grandpa passed away last night. My first grandparent to die. He was in the hospital last night for dehydration and they were running some tests and found out he had pancreatic cancer that had spread to his liver and other organs. They were going to run more tests today to see how long he had left, etc and he died in his sleep this morning around 3:30.

My mom is devastated (understandably). She just had her hysterectomy but even then she hasn't been able to travel down to see him. She has fibromyalgia and can't even sit in the car long enough to come to visit me 50 min away let alone in a car/plane for the trip down there. She can't even lay down in bed she's always in so much pain, she has to sleep in a chair sitting up. She is feeling so horrible and guilty for not seeing him in a long time. She would send cards and letters with pictures almost every other day. Called him all the time. Sent gifts. I told her he knew she was unable to travel and was happy that she kept in constant contact with him like that with calls and letters and stuff.

Anyway if you could please pray for her and my two Aunts and also for my Grandma. They have been married for probably almost 70 years and loved each other in a way that was enviable to most others around them. I love him and always will.

Thank you all hug

We are having his memorial at the end of June. (Two of my cousins have college exams, another a dance competition and another is having a baby in the beginning of June.) So we are having the Memorial at the end of June so everyone can be there. I wish it was sooner because it's harder to go on when you know that this is still looming. At the same time I know it'll be good that everyone can be there.

That is a long time to wait, but it might really make for a great memorial. Everyone will have had time to get photos together and remember stories.

Please say a prayer for my sweet little miniature pinscher Cece. I will bring her to the vet in the morning. I think it is time to have her put to sleep. She has lost control of her bladder, been throwing up and will not get up and move. She hasn't eaten anything for two days. She is around 12 years old now. I will miss her very much. I'm trying not to cry. I know it's all part of life.
