PS3 controllers from Chinese Sellers on eBay

Oh, so let me get this straight just so I understand. I paid $25 bucks for a controller that the seller claims is an OEM controller. Shortly after I made the purchase I get to reading up on the controllers coming from China and some claim they are counterfeit. I get the controller and it is indeed counterfeit. I contact the seller about the problem and he refuses to do anything and just replies by saying is there anything not working on the controller. I then contact ebay and they decide in my favor giving me back my $25 bucks because they researched and can obviously see the seller is selling counterfeit controllers from his recent feedback. Now here's the kicker, you are saying I'm jackass because I don't send the controller back to him. I'm guessing to ship a package that size internationally is going to cost me at least $15 bucks, so if I did that I would be $15 dollars in the hole with no controller. I'm not doing that and if that makes me a jackass then I guess I'll just have to be a jackass.

Another question. How is ordering a product that is supposed to be OEM, receiving the product and it not being oem, and then requesting a refund, looking for a handout? If I had received what I paid for then this would have never been an issue.

Shortly after you made the purchase you said you realized it was probably a counterfeit. I'm assuming he didn't ship within a day so you could have easily cancelled your order and purchased an OEM controller elsewhere.

I'm sorry, but you're not making any sense. Why would I cancel my order before I gave the seller a chance? He did actually ship pretty fast, but that's not really the point. The point is simple imo, I didn't get what I paid for, so I got a refund. If I had bought a controller from amazon the result would have been the same. I'm astounded that you're making me out to be a bad guy when all I did was order something and then received a counterfeit item.

no i don't sell counterfeit items, but i won't sell on ebay because they side with whiney baby buyer who got a working ps3 controller for half of what it costs in most stores and isn't happy because the color of the button is wrong so they deserve it for free.

I'd have no problem sending the damn thing back if the seller would pay for the shipping. I refuse to pay $15 to send something back if that's going to put me $15 in the hole with nothing to show for it. Amazon pays for return shipping. Also just to update you on the controller, it shuts off randomly, and the sticks don't feel like a real ps3 controller, plus the button isn't the right color, the sony logo is a sticker, etc. etc. etc. Its not "99% like a real one". What I meant by that statement was if I could not discern the difference in the controller I received and a real one then I wouldn't care, which is obviously not the case. I'll say again what I've said multiple times. If the seller had sent me what I paid for, then I would have never had a problem. I'm not even going to go into the economics of cheap Chinese dumping into our country, the Chinese view on intellectual property, etc. etc., but again I don't feel sorry for this seller at all if he's selling counterfeit products and presenting them as real.

NO, the feedback came after people started receiving the controllers not when I placed the order. If you'd go look all the negative feedback about ps3 controllers on his account is within the last couple of weeks. I placed the order back in September.

I'm still at a loss for how you guys think I "took advantage" of the situation. When I originally placed the order, I honestly took the listing at its word and thought I was getting an original OEM controller. I later suspected it could be counterfeit, but this was after the order had already shipped. At the point we are at now, I have a piece of shit controller, and he doesn't have anything, however for me to get the controller back to him, I would have to incur a $15 cost that would put me at a loss for $15 when I wasn't the one selling counterfeit products. Like I said, if he offered to pay for return shipping then I'd gladly send it back to him. If this sell had been on amazon, amazon would have paid for return shipping. It's not my fault that ebay doesn't force the seller to pay for you to return defective products.

Trust me, I've been on the other side of the situation actually with a similar product. I sold an xbox 360 controller(an authentic one) one time and was screwed because a buyer said something was missing from the package which I know wasn't the case, and they just immediately sided with him and gave him my money back. I was pissed about it, but basically charged it to the game as I've been selling for years and that's only happened once. On the other hand, if I had sold a fake product, and they took my money I would not be the least bit surprised and would not even ask the buyer to resubmit the payment as I would know I was in the wrong. You guys are amazing.
