I just purchased this controller on ebay because it was a good bit cheaper than I was able to find a controller elsewhere. I've read reviews on how some of these controllers coming from chinese sellers are counterfeits. Here's my thing though. I don't care if they are real or not as long as they look 99% like the real ones, and work fine. So, I'm wondering if anyone on here has purchased one and if so, is it pretty good quality and does it work properly?

lol, I just got the red one because I'm almost 100% sure the orange and purple ones are fake and I figured if I got this one and had problems with it, I could buy one from somewhere and then take this one back or hell I could potentially call sony and have them do a warranty replacement because I'm sure all the model numbers and everything are going to be the same regardless

fraud? If the controller has sony's model numbers on it and its not real then sony needs to be dealing with this anyway. Like I said if the things works then I could give a crap about whether it was made in Sony's factory. If it doesn't work, then I'm not an expert in telling counterfeits apart from real controllers, so I'll send it in and if they fix it then I'd assume it was real. If not, then I'll contact paypal about the seller selling counterfeits, either way, I'm not the one committing "fraud".

yeah, right. I heard of one "reported" incident with no hard proof.

I think you misunderstood me. I meant that if the one I received didn't work I was going to buy one from walmart or somewhere, send this one to sony and then when I got it back, take the one I bought from walmart back. How is returning a product to a store fraud?

Edit: I just reread what I said and I'm seeing what you are saying. You thought I meant I would buy one from somewhere, put the one from ebay back in the package and then return it to the store. Although I'm sure that would work(lol), I don't have the balls to try that without being scared of getting caught haha.

On one hand, everything is made in China.

On the other hand, if these don't work, eBay won't be much of a help. I ordered iPad dock from Amazon. It was marketed as original but when I received it, it was clearly a counterfeit. (no apple logo or label) It didn't work at all. Amazon reimbursed me right away. They always take buyer's side.

This would be incorrect. Ebay will ALWAYS take the buyers side in a dispute, no matter if they are retarded or not. I have been on both sides of many cases, the buyer gets what they want every single time, look around at what others say.

I had a seller pull a switch-a-roo on me and I got a fake that looked and worked just like a Sony, it just was missing the logo. I didn't use it very long so I don't know how long they will last....

I received it today after ordering it almost a month ago, and I can tell its fake from several things the most glaring of which is that the playstation logo is white when the real red controller's buttom is black. On the other hand, the controller works fine. I emailed the seller and requested a refund, so we'll see where that goes I guess.

It works fine but your requesting a refund and in your intial post you knew it was fake but didnt care as long as it worked which you say it does.

No in my initial post I said if it was fake and worked I would use it. I never said I would be happy with the seller if he sold me a fake. The auction clearly states the controller is OEM, so yes the seller owes me a refund if the controller isn't an original controller. Are you trying to say he doesn't?
