Yeah i was just reading older posts myself. I wouldn't mind buying a separate wideslide jar but I think I'm going to wait until blendtec has another deal.

I purchased mine from them...it's pretty beat up... works okay but I don't consider these "refurbished" at all. They don't do anything with the jar/lid. They only test to make sure the motor functions...

i say avoid them i got on the olive deal for $170 and it was beyond beat up, it has spider web cracks all over the plastic cover which reduces the noise, also the blender leaks from the bottom and the top and is really scratched up since the top lid does not do a proper seal all they do is reset the counter to 0 thats it, nothing else. I wish i got on the $200 10 year refurbed model direct from the company earlier this year, that was awesome

I got that one. Undistinquishable from new condition. And I was kicking myself for spending more that time.

As buyer of one of these "refurbished" olive blender I WOULD NOT RECOMMENDED IT to anybody since the product I got was in terrible shape (i.e. spider web on enclosure, worn out jar with ugly looking lid etc...) If you want similar product at slightly cheaper price I would suggest E-bay where the previous buyers of these items want to unload their acquisitions looking forward to landing few "innocent" victims.

ya this is an absolute rip off...

I had to buy a brand new lid for $10 from blendtec because the lid didnt work...

I have opened up a dispute with AMEX already...

Stay away - I ordered two with previous deal - both in extremely poor condition and one does not even function. Company is fine, no problem in shipping back the one that does not work except for the fact I have to pay for shipping.

I've been following all these vminnovations deals here and on ebay for some time. Yesterday I took a look on the ebay feedback and almost every time there is a negative, it's someone who purchased this blender. Quite a few were DOA or died quickly so the idea of just replacing the carafe doesn't seem so hot either. And almost everyone here who has made a comment in the other threads about the condition of this blender has been disappointed with a few neutral.

These units have been refurbished by a certified 3-party and tested by them to ensure proper operation. As noted in the listing signs of use and wear is to be expected considering they have been used previously by a major coffee chain.
