And I was gonna add that PS1 games work on the PS3, but I see that you've already mentioned that

PS1 games work on the old PS3 consoles only, they dont work on any of the slim PS3 consoles, so beware before you buy

Actually from what I've heard PS1 games do work on slim consoles. It's PS2 games that only work on the older models.

Yup, my FFT and others work fine with my 160GB PS3 Slim

Already have VIII and CC, but I'm in thinking about Anthologies...

All PS3s, slim and phat, play all or essentially all PS1 games.

PS2 compatibility is where things vary. All PS3 slims lack PS2 compatibility. But PS2 compatibility among PS3 phats is more tricky, and varies between territories/markets.

Another thing, you can't transfer saves from a PS1/PS2 memory card, unless you have the optional memory card adapter. If you're only playing on your PS3, it doesn't matter (it uses "virtual" memory cards for PS1/2 games). But if you want to resume your saves from 10 or 15 years ago, you'l want the adapter.

I liked FF8, but When I got the idea to max out all the character stats I just got burnt out! Awesome game though, I remember watching the opening scene with amazement, over and over!

I would be all over this if I didn't already have all the black label ones.
