Anyone actually applying there degree to their work today? My little bro was asking me yesterday, and I didn't have a good answer for him. One thread just got me thinking...

my degree is in Math Education (i wanted to teach highschool math)
i am in the Accounting/Risk Management field for an Energy Trading company

meaning i'm not using my degree at all laugh out loud

but i will say that since 1/3 of my degree consists of math classes, it actually helped get me the job that i have right now, and i've been here over 6 years.

Nope. I have no degree. I couldn't afford college myself and was refused assistance because my dad made too much. They said I must wait till I was 25.

I don't have a degree but what helped me land this job is my bilingual skills and past job experience and skills.

I hope to go back to school this fall and finally get my Bachelors in Environmental Science and Safety

I have a BA in business management, which helps in everything. But I don't have a joint degree in architecture which is the field I am in now. Honestly this job came to be b/c of an alumni and prior work experience. Its not what you know,but who you know.

We have an Env Sci group here Nessy. And Sait I here ya, I had first 2 years paid, then had partial when I blew my knee and shoulder out, but I couldn't get aid b/c my parents salary, so I had student loans. Which weren't that bad b/c my partial was still somewhat high.

I have like 60 or 80 hours of electronics and satcomm stuff from the military, but no degree.
One of the best programmers I know has a degree in english literature, and I know another person with some sort of english degree that manages a mall laugh out loud
