Thank you. Just busted my MX 518, which I dearly loved and used for the last 6 years (Two or Three of them with the great warranty). Time for a change hopefully it is worth it. Repped.

With all these deals on mice, two questions come to mind:

Last night I saw a G500 listed on SD for 35 shipped. I had bought mine a week earlier when amazon had them for 40 dollars also. Interesting mouse... Very similar to my G5, I'd say the scroll wheel is the most noticeable change. Also the forward/back buttons have a new button (no clue what it does yet) and they are hard plastic buttons that protrude vs the G5/518 which are almost recessed and are soft rubbery plastic.

Just a friendly note, neither Logitech mouse provides support for Mac OS X.

I own both. One for work and one for home. I love them both, but I prefer the G9x more. Both are descent prices.

G9X is for claw grip. G500 is for palm grip. Simple.
I have two G500's myself...coming from MX518

The left scroll button on my 4 years old G5 died and Logitech replaced it with a G500 without any hassle. The only two complaints going from a G5 to G500 is that the side buttons are a little small and too close together and that the paint job is already fading after a week (G5 texture is molded into the plastic).
