I was excited about Rage last year but since then the more I hear about it the less enthused I got. For one, the textures are going to be the same across the board between all 3 platforms which sucks because I was looking forward to higher res megatextures on PC. Also, the multiplayer is basically combat cars which completely boggled my mind considering this id we're talking about here. Each gamplay footage they release gets less and less exciting. The animation is still top notch though nevertheless as well as a promise of 60 FPS on console. I can see PC gamers being bummed out like you said. They do seem to be catering more to console gamers and even then more to the Xbox than the PS3.

I look at this one similar to how I did Borderlands...a campaign that I loved and multiplayer that I didn't even touch.

Almost how CoD series games are the opposite. I barely touch campaign and just play multiplayer.

That does really prove the point that it's underhyped to all hell. We're a week away from the first new id franchise in 15 years and we can barely reach a page worth of posts without a forum beef.

It's got all the hallmarks of "Great game that gets lost in the shuffle" because MW3 and BF3 look to blast it right off the map in a month.

I think 60 FPS on console is a really under appreciated thing. It really does make a big difference in how smooth a game feels which I appreciate immensely.

Agreed...no matter how good it is...in a month people will have put it on the back burner anyway since the multiplayer will probably not be a big hit. Anyone who hasn't put it away by then will when MW3 and BF3 kill it.

Everything I've read/seen points to it not being nearly that long. More like 20-25 if you really explore and do the side missions and significantly shorter if you just follow the linear progression.

I don't predict its going to have anything close to that. And Fallout 3 didn't have a 50+ hour campaign, it had a 15 hour campaign and 35 hours worth of sidequests and exploring.

For most people 15 hours total is unacceptable for a game like this. If the total play time comes anywhere close to Fallout 3 mentioning 15 hours was a really dumbass thing to do.

I'd never heard of it until a few minutes ago. After years of searching the internet for game infomation any site I've never seen = weird. Now that I'm looking through it I'm seeing some good info.

The game will be on 3 discs for Xbox (25GB install), 1 for PS3(8GB install) [tomshardware.com].
