Great, I.25v !!! I jumped. Wish work properly with my ASUS P7H55-M Pro + i3 550 comb. I want to OC.........

I believe there was a similar ram posted up earlier. The G.Skill Ripjaws at 1.5v. What is the difference between this Sniper and the Ripjaw besides the voltage they run on? Is it better to get the one with lower voltage or higher voltage?

lower. It usually means you can OC it safely.

I had already chosen this product for my upcoming build and was planning to buy at $60, but I created a price alert last night for "DDR3" in case some other great deal came up before I was ready. I'd much rather have this at $60 than something slightly cheaper with better timings but overvolted at 1.65v.

I was sort of amazed that this was the first actual RAM deal that came up--it's exactly the product I was planning to buy!

Needless to say, in for 2 and repped.

Glad the post was helpful. I have been checking prices like a hawk since I needed a set. I saw the 8gb 1333 snipers @1.5 go for 31 last week and just missed it. I didn't want to pay $50 for the same ram so at least this is a very solid upgrade. I'm curious to see how fast these can go, in the newegg reviews gskill responded and said these have alot of flexibility since you can safely increase the voltage.

Yeah I jumped on those too, it was bundled with a nice cooler max power supply + the 4 GB SD card for 69.99 I think. Perfect for my hackintosh. I read above that lower voltage is easier to overclock, how does a user benefit from overclocking their ram?

what differences if any would i notice with a 2600k o/c with this ram compared to the 1333mhz, 1.5v version?

i would get this if my dell was OC-able >.<

Why would this not work properly for your motherboard? Both are DDR3.
Won't all DDR3 memory work on all DDR3 motherboards?
I will be building a computer in a few months and it seems like all the memory posted here is never on the list of tested and approved memory on the ASUS motherboard website.

I'm also looking forward to finding this out. I read about someone who clocked it up to 1866 without a problem. I personally would rather tighten the timings, but I'm not sure if adding voltage can help with that.

It's really a win-win--you should have a lot of room for overclocking, and even if that turns out not to be the case, you're using less power for about the same price as other RAM of the same speed and you have a nice-looking heat spreader rather than a lot of the huge, ugly ones out there. It was my choice even at $60--20% off just sweetens the deal!
