Wrong. The difference between this and the other is the backlight. This one uses LED as backlight, while other "non-LED" ones use flourescent bulbs. Both are technically LCDs. LED typically use less power, but the color may not be as good as flourescent.

No you're still wrong. The other guy was right.

All LED backlit monitors also use TFT (thin film matrix). There is no LCD monitor that DOESN'T use TFT.

You're misinformed about the properties of LED monitors compared to CCFL backlit LCDs.

LED monitors are TFT also. TFT LCD is the display technology. LED and CCFL refer to the backlighting technology.

I think you mean LED backlight models cost more than CCFL backlight units (not TFT - Thin Film Transistor - which is the LCD technology), I suspect in the next year or two CCFL units will be hard to find, and more expensive than LED.

Not to mention, they can market the 1080 models with a big "Full HD" label. And they save money at the same time.

In any case, this seems to be a pretty good deal for a 24" LED. So I'm giving it a thumbs up Smilie
