Wow, I thought my z5500 sounds good. I wonder how much of an improvement this would be from my setup. (can't afford it either way lol)

The LSI-15s sound very good for the price and they almost have universally positive ratings. I purchased the 15s to replace a set of Jamo C series towers. Compared to the Jamo and my Polk Monitor 70s the LSIs are less harsh on the high-end and produce much clearer sound with good quality source material. If anyone is upgrading from a HTiB or PC speakers just realize that lower bit-rate tracks will generally sound better on a cheaper system.

Another point to realize as another poster mentioned before, to power these speakers (entire LSI series) you will likely have to run a processor + dedicated amp. Most if not all combined receivers cannot power these for an extended period without overheating. The 15s can drop closer to 2ohms at certain frequencies.

And the final point to add is that Polk has already announced the LsiM models (and have released demo models) which are designed to replace this series. Chances are you will see these on sale at clearance prices later this year / early next year.

How are they compared to Bose? (Bose 5 speaker package is around the same price).

So how slick is this? I was originally looking to go with a Polk RTi set-up, but this seems like a really good deal.
Plus, I was hoping to eventually pick up an Onkyo 809. I can find people online saying they're able to push 4 ohm speakers with their 809. Does anyone here have any personal experiences?

If I get the bookshelf combo, will my devon avr2112ci be able to handle the set? Is it enough power? Will it over heat? This will be my first home theatre setup and already have the avr2112ci. I plan to use this mainly for home theatre and some music. Was going to get some monitor 40's and a cs1 or 2 with the bic 200 but this seems like it's a great setup... not sure if I have enough to power it.

Thanks

In case you haven't figured it out yet, Bose is not well thought of. They're overpriced and don't have as good sound as a setup that costs half as much. These would destroy Bose. All Bose has is marketing. They're marketed as "good" speakers so people believe they're good, even though they're not that great.

A lot better. Heck I have a simple bookshelf Klipsch that sounds a lot more clear then the Z-5500 that I own.

The are 4 ohm speakers, they need a hefty amp to drive them. most receivers are rated only or 8 ohms. You will need something like an outlaw or emotiva rated for 4 ohms to run these puppies.

i own a pair of Lsi 25s powered by an Emotiva amp and can attest to just how god damned good these sound!

Flac + cambridge Dacmagic/denon dp47f turntable + shure M97Xe, Emotiva, 10 gauge, Lsi25 + room treatments = audio heaven!

Ring radiators FTW!!
