Promotion discount will show $0 during the order process even though you used the GIFT25A code. It make sense because you're not getting a discount. Instead, you may get a $25 gift card 4-6 weeks after your order is processed.
for those suspicious of the website address, just go to
[No, go to americanexpress.com, amex.com is a stock exchange. (now part of NYSE)... lol]
Not available for those in Arkansas and Vermont. Residents of those two states can buy for others in a different state, but it can't be shipped to Arkansas & Vermont.
2. There is no free $25. This is not like the PASS50 promotion. This code is for a free $25 GIFT CARD. If Amex lets the targeted promotion provision slide, it should work out in this fashion:
Step 1: sign up using promo code.
Step 2: receive Prepaid Card from Amex
Step 3: fund Prepaid Card
Step 4: wait 4-6 weeks to receive a $25 GIFT CARD from Amex
Of course, it's all YMMV bc it's expressly a targeted promotion. But it's worth trying (i.e. the initial PASS50 deal was targeted and a bunch of SDers got in on that) The T&C simply ensure that the consumer has the Prepaid card active before Amex will pay out the bonus gift card.
READ the fine print for the Roadside Assistance - It doesn't appear to really be any 'assistance' at all - it states that the cardmember is responsible for paying for the services.

BEWARE: AMEX Customer Service told many of us that you must order and load the card with >$25, and then RELOAD the card before Nov 15, and then you qualify to receive a separate additional $25 AMEX gift card.
NOTE: When you order the card, make sure you include the promo code. It will NOT show any promotional discount during the order process. You will NOT get an additional $25 value added to your card. In most cases, you MUST RELOAD (add >$25) to the card to qualify for the additional $25 AMEX gift card. Don't wait around for the window to close - it's a prepaid card so it doesn't hurt you in any way to add $25 to it twice (once during initial order, once after receiving/activating).
Update 12/05: Just spoke to an AMEX rep on the phone and it looks like AMEX got in on the slickdeals thing. He said they will be matching the offer with a names database they sent the initial offers to before giving out the $25 bonus. He did mention Slick Deals , so we should probably be down voting such offers in future so that the company does not get a sniff of it.
Update 01/02: It's 3 cards maximum for each purchaser. Each purchaser has to have a unique SSN and bank number. I did not have to reload the card to get my gift cards. I loaded it as part of the initial purchase. It took 5 weeks for my gift cards to arrive and I have not used the prepaid cards yet so there's no purchase needed to "activate" them.
