Thread Details

I saw this deal a while ago but couldn't find anything about it. I called OfficeMax and they led me to a new link where you can now see how much your trade in MIGHT be worth.

I did see the previous post mentioning this deal but it didn't have the direct link and has already expired I thought it deserved its own post for future reference because it took me forever to find this!

BTW I tried an old Compaq laptop I have had for a few years (only paid $400) and it was showing $125 trade in - not bad! If the laptop doesn't work the trade in is zero.

Don't bash if you don't like - I am just trying to help others wondering about this program.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Save "up to" $250

Notes
  • "Is the Laptop Fully Functional? " If NO = laptop is $0
  • "Do you have the Power Cord?" If NO = subtract $10
  • "Is the Laptop in Good Physical Condition?" If NO = laptop is $0

Prices
  1. Celeron = $50
  2. Core i7 = $200
  3. Core i7 Extreme = $250

Kinda basic...it estimates value based solely on the CPU type and manufacturer? Seems suspect.

Thanks for not bashing...LOL. I realize that - but I was REALLY curious as to what they were offering because I have OfficeMax rewards built up and need a new laptop. We are not thinking it is worth it either. I was just annoyed it took me so long to find the stupid link!

haha "up to $250" -- you have to have an i7 extreme processor in the laptop to actually get the $250...

but hey if you're not very computer literate and don't want to mess with selling it yourself, this is an option

I have just traded in HP laptop I bought in May 2005. It had Athlon 3000, win xp pro working condition had some crack in front from falling which nobody noticed or did not care. The estimate was 75, I went hoping to get 50. They just gave me 75, just went to the same web site, pluged in the specs and gave whatever it said.

Hoping for 299 acer to come back soon, so i can upgrade.

Good luck.

So they gave you the discount right away if you purchase a new computer.

If you arn't purchasing a computer, can u do trade in and get a credit for future computer purchase?

I was given a voucher for 75$, which you can use right away. It does not have expiration date just says to give cashire with the computer purchase. I did not buy a laptop yet hoping for some 299 deal.
