Pretty good deal. Older unit without the free map updates. I have the XXL 540 model which is similar. you can occasionally get the 540 with lifetime maps and traffic updates for around $100, which is why I recommend against this one.

Things I like about the 540: Fairly easy to use. Nice computer interface for updates and points of interest. free maps for life (which you don't get with this one). User input alerts can be downloaded from web to get construction problems AND common police radar (wow!) locations.

Things I don't like about the 540: Screen is sort of a frosted "non-glare" screen, which really means that the whole thing washes out in sunlight and is hard to read. Not as bright and clear a display as Garmin. Touchscreen is not nearly as good as a Garmin. Finally, I really really really hate the mounting bracket. The GPS pops out of the mount easily when you touch it and it is impossible to reinstall it with one hand. Really poor design that unfortunately is common to all newer TomTom.

So, I give the TomTom a B grade. Not bad. This would be an ok unit if you're really tight for money, but the 540 for $100 is a much better deal with the lifetime maps and traffic.
