Zoom 5341 DOCSIS 3.0 vs motorola surfboard sb6121

Golbez01 31 October 5, 2011 at 10:32 AM
Looking for docsis 3.0 modem, anybody know how these two compare? Looks like a Zoom is $10 or so cheaper than the Motorola. Wasn't able to find any comparisons online.

For the Zoom found this
This product was discontinued as of Tuesday, October 04, 2011. Call for availability.
I have the Motorola like the fact that it is fully ventilated have had mine for about 2 1/2 yrs (older model same thing) and it has worked great.

Comcast has both listed but Motorola has 3 stars vs 1

Move speed slider to faster to get rid of the slow modems

I can say that I don't recall ever running into *anyone*, nor reading about anyone (except maybe one or two people) that have the Zoom modem. This doesn't prove it's bad, or that it is inferior to the Motorola... If the price delta were larger, I might *consider* the Zoom, but assuming it's say $60 (Zoom) & $70 (Motorola), I'd go with the Motorola -- it's a VERY popular modem and has proven quite successful with it's user-base.

If you have Comcast cable internet, then go with the Motorola as it is a known supported modem for that service. I'm not saying the Zoom cannot be provisioned and activated, but I have not read any reviews of this modem on Comcast's service. I am a big supporter of the Motorola surfboard.
