It will work but sandy bridge is recommended to have a 1.5v on ram. This requires 1.65v t run at the rated specifications. If you do choose to run it, I think your computer will chug happily along, it'll just induce some faster wear and tear sort of thing. I personally would wait. I bought g.skill sniper modules same eight gb for 40. Should be coming in the mail today!

Wait it out. 1.25v vs 1.5v just in case you ask: eh. Don't waste your time with 1.25v right now if it means waiting another month or more to find a good deal for it. 1.5 is just fine.

Actually, it is rated at 1.65V to run at the listed specs. It might work with lower volts

Haha cute. But true! I'd take a peek at reviews searching for 1.5v which I have and its a few. Possible if you get a good pair. Wouldn't take this kind of risk though since 1.5v ram is easy to find!

Yup, if you want 1.5V, better to buy ram that is guaranteed 1.5V

Especially if you can get it for the same price. I would expect 1.65V to be a little cheaper unless maybe ram has already bottomed out! (I doubt it)
