Great gun with tons of aftermarket options. Walmart often has it for about $200 which might be less expensive even if you pay sales tax once you add shipping and ffl transfer fees. Thumbs up in any case.

Good deal, not sure how much shipping is though. For comparison, Buds has it for $198 with free shipping: http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalo...s_id/70280

On the deals page, the Smith and Wesson 1911s seem like good deals at $799/$777.

That's about the average going price for this low end 10/22.

Shipping to my FFL computed as $11.20...plus $15 for a transfer comes to (for me, YMMV) $206.19 OTD for a brand new base 10/22; I'd sure call it a good deal.

I'm in CA. I have a rodent problem. If I buy this, can I get it suppressed? Can someone mail me a suppressor so I don't bother the neighbors while vanquishing the darn varmints?

You have to pay $200 to the Feds to get a suppressor.

I don't think you can legally own a suppressor in CA.

you can get 22 shells that just use a primer. No added power. Should be strong enough to eliminate cats. I use a high power competition pellet gun for such needs.

The funny thing is when I looked into .22 air rifles, the "good" ones cost as much if not more than this ruger. EEK!
Primer only??? Never heard of such a thing...does it even produce enough force to propel the bullet out lol

Good luck with that. Playing with "loop holes" like that can get you free room and board in a Federal hotel.

They're plenty powerful enough for small game/varmints at close range. There's also rat shot.

In any case since you mentioned "neighbors," you should check local laws re discharging firearms within city limits. Around here an air rifle counts the same as a .50 caliber. Doesn't matter what it is, you can't shoot it within city limits and there's a hefty fine. And that's in VA, not a particularly controlling state. If you're outside of the city, then you're probably OK.

Also, a 10/22 or any semi-auto aren't the best guns to use with lower-powered ammo since they rely on recoil to operate the action and most of it doesn't have enough power to do so reliably. You'd be better off with a bolt or pump action that will handle different types of ammo better. Shooting .22 shorts from an old long-barrel bolt action Remington that I have is quieter than an air rifle. No suppressor required. Sounds about like a cap gun.
