An upgrade is $179.99, which is still $50 cheaper than from the T-Mobile's web-site, but you have to get the most expensive data plan for $40. If you change the plan, the phone price goes up to $210. In other words, this is not a deal if you want to keep your current cheap data plan, like the one I have (200MB for $10). In this case you're better off going with T-Mobile.

There seems to be no difference, at least when using synthetic benchmarks as a metric. |
