There is new model coming out this month that supports spotify, and will start at 99 dollars, and have built in wifi. The extra 20 dollars might be worth if for the wifi.

You will need a premium spotify account to use this service. Free account doesn't work, i tried on my WD TV LIVE Hub. Also built in wifi only support 2.4 Ghz. so its better to get a usb adapter which supports both 2.4 and 5 ghz, of course if you need higher speed.

what are the differences between this and google TV? I am thinking of disconnecting my cable service.

Bought it last week, returned it last week. Bought a Roku at $85 which has a ton more channels. Yes I know it cost more, but the difference in available channels makes it worth the extra $30.

While both can be categorized as "media players", the main purpose for each unit is completely different. You just made rather poor research before purchasing the WD TV Live Plus if you think Roku is better.

Thought this was the Plus Hub, I got excited. Not that I need the (but it is nice) 1TB HD but I want the streaming to other tv's and devices..

You certainly don't know me and my needs for these units, so that's a pretty big leap on your part to make such a statement. FYI, I decided the trade-off for what WD did over Roku, was worth loosing for the channel availability of the new Roku box had. Plus I was able to get a discount on the new Roku box.

Stick to reviewing the products and not the users.

I have WDTV live plus. Due to large number of channels, I brought Rouku as well. But DLNA in WDTV Live Plus makes it (for me) better than Roku. Not to forget the USB support in WDTV

I can understand why SmaShT said what he said. The WDTV is an excellent box to stream media from a networked hard drive especially with Windows 7 and can stream from several online places. The Roku is an excellent box to stream a lot of content from the web and CAN NOT stream anything from a network drive. They are two different players with their main focus being a little different. So, if you bought the WDTV Live Plus just for online content, that was not the best box.
