Question from an audio noob:
How well is this going to sound using the HDMI inputs on my HDTV and the optical cable connecting the soundbar to the TV? |

^if you hook it up like that you're only going to get 2.1 sound because everything is hooked up through hdmi which doesn't carry 5.1 surround sound. the optical cable carries 5.1 surround. the best way to hook it up is the use optical cables for everything, buy a switch on mono price, and then hook that up directly to the single optical cable input on the vizio system.
in short, it will sound good but not have true surround sound. good deal, this is one of the best sounding small speaker soundbar-type systems out there. |

Thanks for the info. I went ahead and bought it. It will be 100x better than the sound coming from my Vizio HDTV. |
