Forget it. If you read the fine print at Amazon you will see that if you buy any phone from them using a promotion and there are any changes to that phone at all(number change within your plan, and any other change you can think of within 180 days you get hit for the full price of the phone on your Verizon bill. It sounds like it can be done but any of the companies that sell the phones super cheap do not allow any changes, you must use an upgrade for the line you want to activate. Verizon will let you use an upgrade from one line and activate the phone on a different number in your plan as will Best Buy essentially transferring the available upgrade(s) to any line. You will get hit with a large charge if any changes are within 180 days and it goes down a little bit for each additional month. You are also correct about data plans. Each line has its own data plan. Your best bet would be to wait until the Google Nexus comes out on Nov 21st(latest rumored date) and use your upgrade then you can also keep your unlimited data plan.
