So... for $5 less you can get the 1333 Mhz RAM, and for $5 more you can get the low voltage sniper RAM.
I'm wondering if the extra $5 for the Sniper RAM would be worth it... it may overclock better and have fewer problems with aftermarket CPU coolers due to the smaller head spreader. Thoughts? Last edited by raiz; 10-18-2011 at 09:44 AM.. |

Basically I think boils down to production of scale. When it comes to technology goods, fabrication or manufacturing process is small and the scale ratio for profitability dictates that the prices remain high during the initial period. When consumer demand for that particular product or technology increases, you have true production of scale and you see retail prices slowly come down. Production for DDR2 RAM has steadily decreased over the last 3 years and especially with the down economy, the rate of decrease has been even steeper this year. One would think that considering the vast number of computers still running on DDR2 memory, that manufacturers or retailers would run sales/promotions on DDR2 frequently - but for reason that i just explained, you will not see much of a sale on DDR 2. Simple economics. |
