I just called and got the promo rate activated as well. I just asked if I was eligible for the 0% promo rate, and the guy checked and told me it was now activated for 6 months (expiring July 17...he must've miscalculated 6 months though).

Just tried and they said they don't see anything on the account. They want me to fax a copy of the letter to them so they can apply it. 0% would be nice right now.

Tried calling, and was told I wasn't eligible for the 0% rate either. Seems like a big YMMV and you basically needed to get the email.
They did offer me a 2% rate for 6 months, which I accepted though. So, it doesn't hurt to call and ask if you're eligible for any rate reductions. |

I already had the 3.9 on there for 6 months applied last month. I have been w/them since 2004, however, I barely used that card because of the insane rate before getting the 3.9%.

Just called, got the 0%. He asked if I got the letter in the mail and I said yes. Not sure if I actually did or not, haven't checked yet.
 But anyway, he confirmed I did get it so maybe I do have an offer in the mail. Still YMMV until we know what qualifies a person for 0%. |

Guess you guys use the card more than I do. I have excellent credit so I guess that is not the only thing they take into consideration. It has probably been 2 years since I have used my Discover. Are you guys always using the card to the ones that got 0%?

They went so far as sending me a new card (current doesn't expire until 2013) that I need to activate to get the 12mo 0% apr. I haven't touched it. I absolutely DESPISE talking to their customer "service" for 45 minutes telling them repeatedly that I do not want their bonus offers or protection plans. Maybe around Christmas I'll reconsider, but until then, I'm sticking with my Mastercard (which currently offers 0% apr and doubles the length all manufacturer warranties)
