pulled the trigger, no more stove top steam pressure espresso, and burning my hands.

I use this exact model every morning! It works absolutely great with a very creamy foam. This is a great deal and I wouldn't hesitate on jumping on this fantastic product. Let me give you my only 2 "cons" for this device (even though they aren't enough to not give it a five star).
Cons:
1. can only fit a small espresso glass under the nozzle. a coffee mug will not fit.
2. I only get that really thick creamy coffee head from the first cup i make. If I immediately make a second cup for somebody else, the second cup is not nearly as good.

For a "Quick" Macchiato (more like a Cortado) that I do on workday mornings when I don't have much time, I DON'T use the frother. I simply microwave 1/4 mug of milk in the microwave for 45 seconds. Meanwhile, I brew an espresso. When the milk is heated, I add 1 cap of Target's Archer Farms Sugar Free Caramel Liquid Sweetner then poor the Espresso into the mug. You will have a great, frothy, creamy Macchiato made in about 2 minutes.

In for 1. I am pretty excited about making espresso drinks at home. Should save the GF and I some money in the long run. Thanks OP!

The only reason I got the Amazon card is for these card-only deals. The first item I bought was some pool equipment which was being sold $1000 (elsewhere $1200) - 20% = $800 and plus $75 mail in rebate. Great great deal.

As with the current deal, if you find the item on Amazon apready cheaper than anywhere else, a 20% extra off + a rebate is just awesome. Rep the OP!

Burr grinders will have a bean resevoir that you fill (the good ones are glass to cut down on the static) and then "invert" onto the grinder. The burr mechanism looks like a little metal millstone - the beans go in and the fineness of the grind is determined by the spacing between a rotating plate and a stationary one. The advantage is that the grind is very consistent, and you can get very fine grind sizes. Downside is the cost. Burr grinders are even split into flat and conical, with the aforementioned snobs swearing up and down that the conical is the only way to go. It would be tough to tell which you have on most units, because you're have to open it up to look at the rotating portion.

Blade style is pretty self-explanatory....beans go in a cup or something, blade spins and chops them up. But you never really get a consistent grind, even with a good one.
