I always did that according to "Reverend Kyle's" youtube video on installing the cm nightlies. I read that The Dalvik cache is a place where the Android OS re-compiles the executable programs the first time to optimize them and the main data Cache is used by the Android OS at runtime to write temporary files for specific reasons. Wiping that may minimize conflicts since you are starting from scratch with new rom.

I never had an issue with wifi. Of course, it varies based on your wireless setup. I have a Cisco e3000 router running dd-wrt. That router also has a few blu-rays players, other tablets, 2 comps and a laptop getting wireless from it with zero issues.

New intro screen with skateboarding android is better than that rainbow junk before..
Fixes I see so far:
1) When I click poweroff, it does not reboot to menu now when plugged in! Yeepee!! It actually stays off
2) Wifi now works all the time!! Yeepee! Evn on 5ghz band channel 48!

I did not clear any cache or reinstall gapps since so far browser and google apps does work,

It took like 3 minutes..

I keep having to change the settings in the CPU Master and slide the minimum and maximum settings to 1782 MHz every time I restart.
I have 'Set on boot' checked off and it still does this.
How can I keep it set at this setting without it reverting back?

Is that the Antutu CPU Master free?
If so, I just check mine to come on at bootup and it does.
Might you have set up some "do not start" apps in another program and accidentally included the CPU Master?

It starts up fine I think it's just that the settings keep reverting back

Is it the Antutu?
You could try uninstalling and reinstalling.
You could check to make sure that it's not on some kill list in a task manager or battery saver app.

BTW, my friend's TP was fell on a tile floor causing a big crack between glass panel and back cover. Touchscreen sensor is not working at all. Basically it became a dead unit. Do you think he can request a free replacement?

I wouldn't think hp covers accidental drops in their warranty...but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I say tough sell on that one since it not a manufacturing defect unless you claim the pad was emitting a slippery substance leading to the slippage.

I smashed the screen on a Toshiba Thrive that I bought on BF for $200 and the replacement screen costs $180 plus another $10 for a couple of little sponge spacers, and that's before tax and transport.
Amazingly , the danged thing still works, but it feels like I'm going to get glass splinters.
I haven't a clue what to do with it now, so it just sits there gathering dust.
Spending more to fix it than what I paid for it, just doesn't make sense, does it.
Maybe HP will repair your friend's machine for a more reasonable price.
