The *official* Android on the HP Touchpad owner's thread

Apparently, they have no idea that they already HAVE an Android tablet...

like we need another company producing a tablet..let alone android..HP should have stuck with webOS and supported it. I am not overly impressed with android os and feel webOS was more functional and stable. But oh well, no support means android for me on my TP..

Yes, well... All they really need to do is to start producing the TP again. They could even market them as dual-boot tablets.

I'm really surprised to see them considering an Android tablet. My suspicion is that they killed the TP at Microsoft's request.

I don't doubt that for a minute - especially after HP said webos would be pre-installed on every PC they were going to sell in 2012

Same. I booted back into WebOS the past 2 days and forgot how nice it was to use. Such a shame. It had amazing potential.

I think I am running CM7 still (a friend did it for me). I have a question regarding the HP keyboard. I still haven't opened or tried it, but does it still work with both CM7 and CM9? TIA!

Yup!

Would you believe it, I now also have TP that will not respond after battery used up. Normally have it on the Touchstone, but it must not have been sitting correctly and after a few days no battery and now no response from the TP.

Mines went into the sleep of death a few weeks ago. I've tried everything to charge it and it's completely dead. Someone said wait for a few weeks, put it back on the touchstone to see if it will charge. I've tried to plug it into my PC via USB cord to charge and that hasn't worked. I'm pretty much fed up with this now. It's good I have more than one tablet but I used the TP the most even over my Ipad 2. If anybody has suggestions to fix this please pm me.

Now we just need ubuntu for tablets ported to the TP and we will have the best tablet ever.

You guys are kinda freaking me out. I have three touchpads that are used pretty regularly. We only charge by Touchstone and rotate the three of them on the two touchstones. All touchpads are on CM9 nightlies and I've never had a sleep of death yet.
I'll have to watch the kids more closely to make sure that all the touchpads are getting a shot at the touchstone on a regular basis!

My friend's TP went to sleep for 2 weeks. I have tried it on touchstone few times, cable charge, or press reset buttons with different combination. Not working. Last night I tried with the cable charged, no go. Then put it on touchstone. Home button was start flashing! And now it's fully charged!

I still need to buy a metal pryer to open it and fix the volume button issue. Otherwise the sleep of death issue won't stop.
