The *official* Android on the HP Touchpad owner's thread

I noticed earlier when mine did it that a lot of people are still complaining on this thread here: http://code.google.com/p/cmtouchp...tail?id=75 towards the bottom they are saying it's still bad on 2.1.
I figured out mine wasn't on 2.1...but anyways. I haven't had any issues since I updated and I'm not using CPU or have it over-clocked at all.

I'm curious if you have 16gb or 32gb? I thought I read somewhere that they are both natively clocked differently. Wonder if that affects it. I have 16GB btw. Also, I seriously doubt it would make a difference, but did you do any overclocking on preware?

What's the deal with the MarketPlace. It's not going to save free apps we download? Also can't download from online, since it says no device detected..

I like being able to DL online sometimes and install on android later. Hope the official release finds a way to allows this, my Droid does with a custom rom.

Or am I just being slow again?

Actually I have the 32gb, so you might be onto something.

I didn't over-clock it on preware though either. I just did a few patches, but was fine with the speed and knew I'd be putting Android on as soon as I could.

I update webOS today and installed Alpha1 ( by mistake), then updated it to the Alpha2 build via recovery update zip from SD.

Everything seems to be fine now. But yea guess we should be posting which model we have too 16/32gb when we have issues to see if there's differences.

FWIW, the 32gb one is <1.2ghz natively (without overclocking). I thought only the rare 64gb one came natively at 1.5ghz.

setup a birthday SMS to be sent months before it happens so you don't forget

record battery levels over time to a file on SD card

make automatic recordings of what you say during phone calls to SD card
during the night, turn on airplane mode to conserve battery/reduce radiation, but turn it off every 15 minutes to check for SMS/voicemail.

For those of you running Cyanogen mod. Do you know if the Android Tasker app [dinglisch.net] works on the Touchpad? It's my favorite and most used Android Application...Here is what it can do:



That would be awesome if it could control the Touchpad doing at least 10% of what it does for Android would work wonders for me...

Are there different flavors of Android for TP? Will it be Gingerbread-ish?
