Oh wow you have a lot to learn #1 This requires a theme change or framework mod. JRummys Rom Toolbox app will do this for you. Not 100% sure on its compatibility with CM7 & the Touchpad. I don't believe the TP has 1% battery increments yet. #2 You don't. When you exit out by hitting back or home button the app is still running but it frees up resources. As you launch other apps resources are reclaimed it all just works. Google Does not recommend the use of Task Killer apps for Gingerbread. Since this is CM7 there is not bloat that is running so you really dont need them. In the settings you can go in and Force Stop an application if it is hung but this can cause stability problems and is something I can not recommend doing on a regular basis. #3 Hit the home button and start it. Your not switching like in WebOS cards but its also not killing the app. Its still running just kind of paused. It is multitasking its hard to explain in a simple way. Here is a more technical document http://android-developers.blogspo...d-way.html #4 I think CM7 has some gestures built in but you have to enable them. Not sure I am kind of new to CM7 and don't currently use that feature. #5 Not really. Depending on the launcher your using you can see all of your home screens at once usually if you hit home twice. Hard to comment on if people may or may not develop an app to do this. My feeling is unlikely. The good news is ICS contains a feature kind of like this that will show what apps you have running and allow you to move between them. It's pretty cool looking. #6 Settings key --> Settings --> Display --> Brightness There are widgets that allow you to switch between different levels. Beautiful Widgets has this built in which I already use. #7 You have to enable wifi first then you get the icon in the bottom right corner and you can change between networks etc. Settings key --> Settings --> Wireless & Networks --> Enable Wifi (Checkbox) --> Wifi Settings to join and manage your AP. Vague questions receive vague answers . . . . . .

Yeah, I think I just have to dig in and play, with the visual/superficial settings at least (not the cpu stuff). I'm getting much more use to things now. Still have a mindset of wanting the webOS interface, which to me is terrific. Be nice if there was an android/webOS hybrid. Thanks again! |

![]() Whenever a user asks for help my rule of thumb is to let them stew for a little bit. That way they might just find the answers they were looking for without your help. In this case you asked so many questions that I just said, "awww screw it." ha ha. Glad someone came through for you.

If you loved WebOS so much why experiment with Android then? |

I may (probably) be doing something wrong...
I got Android installed ![]() Now I'm trying to get the "Google Market & Apps". The link from here [blogspot.com] appears to be dead? Am I doing something wrong? Is there somewhere else to get it? TIA Edit: NM, Google is my friend

You can kill an app by pressing and holding the Back button on the status bar when the app is actively displayed. It will return to the Desktop and you'll see a message briefly displayed in the lower middle of the screen "Application killed". Handy for misbehaving apps, things you know you won't run again for a while and stuff you don't want to keep running. You can set up shortcuts on the Desktop to Settings like WiFi etc. Just press and hold any empty spot and you'll get a popup. Select Shortcuts then Settings and pick the one you want. Repeat until you have all the ones you want. You can set it up so the display brightness can be adjusted by swiping the status bar horizontally. I don't remember if it was enabled by default but it's at ""Settings > CyanogenMod settings > Interface > Status bar tweaks > Status bar brightness control" There's lots of options under the CyanogenMod settings but I'd suggest changing them carefully and one at a time while checking the result and undoing the change if you don't like it or don't see the effect (it may show up where you don't want it and you may not remember what caused it by the time you notice the effect). I'm an Android newbie too but there are probably some good online guides/articles on getting started. Just haven't had a chance to go looking so I've been stumbling my way around too. If you missed it, holding the Home button will bring up a popup with recently used apps (up to 8). Handy for switching between apps. Has anyone found an app that will display the battery temperature ala WebOS govenah? I've tried a couple but the battery temperature display doesn't work. Probably a porting issue in Alpha 2. |

I got it installed and running succesfully on mine. I have to say though, while, as an iOS user, I found WebOS fairly intuitive, I'm not adapting to Android as quickly as I would have expected. I understand that what we have right now is an alpha build, so I'm expecting the unexpected, but for example, I've somehow lost the icon that brings up all of the apps. It was in the center of the 5 that show on every page, but now it's been replaced by a star, just waiting for me to drag something there as a favourite, but I can't figure out where I would drag the "main menu" item from. Any pointers?

Hi everyone
I have not installed Android on my touchpad yet and was wondering with the new alpha beta version 2 of this android app, are the bugs less or are there still a lot of bugs? Is it worth installing now or waiting for a more reliable version to be released? Do most of the apps from the android marketplace work on it? Thanks! |

Never had apple anything except the ones at school could not justify the added cost. Cyan is known for its openness and not having bloatware. Apple is more like being locked in a really nice mall. I would rather be able go there or the outlet store even the salvation army. Do love that Steve Jobs though he blazed the trail of which I drive for free on the highways of.
