i agree, I'd probably not recommend the TP to anyone as there are so many other cheap options. however, I still have 5 of them in our house and I'm amazed that they are all still alive and kicking. They are all running CM11 and still doing everything we need just fine.
Thx and reps for the info!

I still have a brand new unopened one of these. Is there any value to keeping it? Is there a market for this anymore or should I just open it, throw cyanogenmod on it and use it as a basic browser and game tablet?

Anybody else out there still have an unopened one like me? :p

A new one sells for anywhere from 85-150+ dollars on Ebay depending on the model and accessories included. Just search Ebay for sold listings.

As decent as it is, it is now outdated and you can buy a a decent, new Android tablet for $100+ so I would sell it and get what I can for it in your situation. My 2 cents.

The thing is...will it power on! The battery is dead. Dead as in will not respond to its own power cord/voltage. You will need an intervention and/or People will have to believe such intervention will work, if they buy it from you, tablet unchecked. Otherwise, one doorstop that cost, $$$

I have an older CM on it and a touchstone charging pad. I use it as a glorified alarm clock and baby monitor. It's a bit rough around the edges as surfing the web is kind of painful.

Not sure if it is underpowered or if i'd get better results with the newest CM, but it really doesnt do anything better than a current ~$100 tablet can do. In fact I'm looking to replace my touchpad with a 9"+ tablet shortly

Edit: After reviewing some pages of this thread, looks like I should give CM11 a whirl and see if things work better for me.

Quick question for the touchpad wizards out there:

I am on CM 9, want to goto CM11 (or 12).

Do I need to downgrade back to webos to install CM 11 per the instructions linked in the wiki?
Or can i upgrade in place?

Also, if I want to do, as the wiki says, remove WebOS all together during the upgrade, what's my best course of action?

You do not need to downgrade back to Webos to goto CM11. I posted the dox in here. Just do a search and you will find it. It is quite simple process.
