Sherwin Williams is the only paint we use now. We once covered bright lime green walls with SW light lavender in one coat! Thanks for the heads up!

Camo? Nah. It has to be "kid-friendly" colors. I'm looking for a cute puppy dog, too, for bait.....

What the price comparison between paint from Sherwin as opposed to Home Depot/Lowes?

I purchased some of the paint at %50 discount a few weeks ago and the price was still so high I about choked. Never paid $34 for a gallon of paint in my life. Check out Cons rpts on quality.

Ask any pro painter about what they think on how Consumer Reports rates paints... and you'll see why they use brands like Sherwin Williams (The Premium Lines, low end Sherwin can stink as bad as Behr and Olympic), Benjamin Moore, Kelly-Moore, and Manor House paints.

Paint is more than how long it lasts on a shingle under a UV light, it's about how it can be "worked". Good "Working" paint is able to flow well, trim well, and last a long time, no lap marks, consistant colors, and sharp cuts and trimming. Behr is like working with glue (not a good thing) horrible lap marks, and consistency, no pro likes to touch the stuff, but CU seems to love it. The first time you use a high end "Premium" paint you see the difference, and you'll be amazed how well they cover.

Also "Paint and Primer in One"... Ask a pro about that... Primer and Paint have two different jobs, a prime coat has a function (mostly about adhesion and sealing the undercoat from reaching the finish coat)... it's NOT just white paint. Any company selling Primer and Paint "in one", you should walk away from.

Good paint contains a LOT of solids, and the Solids pricing is high... basically any paint under $30/gal is cutting corners as you are at the edge of the raw material costs.

A lot of what you said is what our pro painter (who was also a friend and a neighbor) said when we were deciding which paint to go with. So when we painted the outside we went with the Sherwin-Williams paint on his recommendation. Three years later, the paint looked just as good as the day it was painted, even though it had to stand up to the hot Texas sun and hail storms. We sold the house and moved out of state but I'm sure it still looks just as good. I also really like their color choices compared to other brands. When it comes time to paint our new house, we're going to use SW again.
