I've been using this drive since mid-September and I've have 0 issues - not a single BSOD or anything. Using an i7 930 on a Gigabyte X58 UD3R. The drive has firmware 2.11.

Not one single problem with my Vertex Plus 120gb...not that I don't always backup everything...lol

Got a fast rebate from OCZ also (came in 2-3 weeks). Thought about buying again, but I think I need a bigger storage hard drive first.

Very tempting....can't you put these in raid? I think I'll wait on black friday.

You should be able to but at the same time to maximize speed you would want to use the SATA (rev. 3) 6Gb/s ports and I am not sure if they are RAID capable.

Tempting but I think I will wait for Microcenter to have a sale. Always easier with them since they are local. Great deal though!

AND the new drives use an Indilinx controller instead of the problem ridden Sandforce controller (which they've apparently fixed with the latest firmware release).

I'll stay far far away from anything OCZ until enough people have tried the new firmware and/or the new Octane drives.

my knowledge about ssds is a generation behind, but the major problem with (the raid controllers that existed during) the last generation was that they had not implemented a way to pass the TRIM command through to the array disks. So while you could get the speed benefits that you'd expect from raid, performance quickly degrades after the drive is filled for the first time. Definitely do your research to make sure that this issue has been resolved.

And on the off chance that you were planning to do a raid0 and care more about the spanned size than the performance, you might be able to fake it with a software solution like dynamic disks in windows...

Sandforce drives have garbage collection, which gives you similar results to trim except it works where trim doesn't (raid and OSes without trim). I believe indilinx and marvell controllers have it as well, not sure about others.
