I'm out of the loop on amps, last time I did a little research my main concern was the hdmi throughput. Will this push 1080p through on everything plugged into it i.e. - dish, ps3, wd live?
I have an old Onkyo that I got in a HT in a box set. It's still running strong but it's def time to upgrade and I dont need anything to crazy.
It is not going to upconvert any signal. If the signal comes in through HDMI as 1080, the receiver will send it through as 1080. It can't convert from component source to HDMI either so if you hookup components connections going in, you are going to have to hookup components going out to the TV.
From my reading I do think it allows standby passthrough with the right setting adjustment, but don't quote me on that.
