this isnt the first time...
some people got pretty sick discounts from the last one altho i checked out 4 best buys and they didnt have any macbook air 13in i5s for 800-900 ... |

What am I missing about the thumbs down for this deal? It's not like the coupon is for $25 off the regular retail price of an Ipad. It's $25 off the lowest marked price on open-box units. $25 more than you would have otherwise saved if the coupon were not available.

I would generally say beware the open boxes. I got a bad deal on an iMac that they eventually made right. However, I did score a sweet deal on an open box iPad 2 Black wifi with 3G on AT&T. Retail is $629+ tax and this one was listed at $459. Had stickers on the back but I cleaned them up nicely. No scratches. I asked for more off and they approved another 10% off and then they applied the $25 coupon on top of that. My pre-tax price was $389. That is a good savings and well worth it. I will reset the warranty to start at my purchase date and we are all good to go.
