Dunno about the Amazon one, but even Buy.com sells 2 versions:
http://www.buy.com/prod/asus-eeeb...70689.html and http://www.buy.com/prod/asus-eeeb...77316.html The first one (which is the deal) doesn't mention the VESA mount, keyboard, or mouse. All of which is optional, according to Asus' site: http://www.asus.com/Eee/EeeBox_PC...ifications |

Also there's a bunch of benchmarks here:

I wish PagePlus has this plan: 500-600 min, 800-1500 text, and 50-100 MB data for $19.95

I compared the SKUs for the one that include the VESA mount, keyboard, and mouse with the deal and it looks like they might be included. The buy.com SKU is different because they're different vendors, but the UPC and UPC 14 are the same. Enough to convince me, in for 1.

Not to get off topic, but I've searching for a ~$200 nettop to use as an HTPC. Hard to find anything in this price range. Anyone have an idea what to get? Anyone think Black Friday will have some good deals on nettops?
I thought this was going to be perfect, but then I noticed how small the HD was. |

XBMC, If you don't know what it is, you should:

SABnzbd+ sickbeard (not really sure how well this works) ubuntu 11.10 XBMC probably one of the best HTPC setups you could possibly have. "Smoked" by windows phone 2012, might be my best SD yet if i could actually get the phone.

I know, its an open source media center software. I'm pretty sure that needs an OS to run. I was hoping to use Windows, but I guess Linux would be fine. XBMC only takes about 100megs |

XBMC has a live distro. Its pretty much ubuntu STRIPPED down heavily and runs XBMC on top of that. BUT its so seamless and well integrated you cant tell you're running ubuntu under it. infact i dont think you can even minimize or close it as a "program" So this live distro is equivalent of its "own OS" (but its really ubuntu+XBMC) 8GB is plenty for this. then add an external via USB for your video content (advance users will probably use a nas server). |

You can install Windows 7 on a 8gb ssd. I have had it on my dell mini 9 for the past 2 years. I followed this guide.. It works very fast..Total install size less than 4gb. Link [mydellmini.com]
