hair straightener / flat iron

So I'm going to Europe and I need to buy a hair straighter that either has a plug that fits in the 220 v outlet or a straightener that accept the European 220 volts and just needs the plug adapter (just to change the shape of the plug....NOT to a voltage converter). On my second to last trip where I went to Europe I brought my Chi that I use in America and plugged it in to the European outlet using a voltage converter and a plug adapter, but it did not work....and no it was not due to a weak converter or anything like that. On my last trip I took a Revlon straightener with me to Europe and after plugging it in to the European outlet with a voltage converter and plug adapter it, too, did not work. I need help finding a straightener that I can buy while I am still here in the US and be sure that it will work in Europe and this time I either want one that is already designed for Europe and has the plug that fits directly into European outlets OR I want to find a straightener that is good for "world travel" where I can be sure it works on both American 110/120v AND 220/240v European currents. In the case of the latter I would just need a plug adapter to plug the straightener into the European outlet and would not need to use any voltage converters. I have had 2 bad experiences not being able to use my straighteners in Europe and I find it mind boggling because I have used other appliances such as laptops that work just fine when I plug them in with the same voltage converter and plug adapter that did not work with my straightener. If anyone could help me with this I would greatly appreciate it. I heard that a store called Sally Beauty Supply sells one straightener that accepts both 110 v and 220 v ....it's called the ion Titanium Platinum Flat Iron.

Anyone ever used it abroad? Does it work with just a plug adapter?
