So I would recommend you buy only at someplace it's easy to return/exchange and has a long return policy (walmart 90 days comes to mind).

I work for Advance. Provided it does not show obvious abuse and as long as you keep your receipt, it should never be an issue at AAP. Make sure anything you purchase is put under your customer profile, as history is kept in the system for 2 yrs. These pumps should be run for no more than ten minutes/shut down for ten minutes/rinse/repeat. Small motor in them will burn up if it is run without the break. Not a defect, just the way it is with a small motor.

I bought one of these a year ago, since my tires are near impossible to inflate with gas station/cheap air pumps- it needs threads to attach to the TMPS stem.

I finally got this one, and it works fast and well. Just recently I inflated my tire from 0 (zero) to 25 within a few minutes, and then from 25-35 a short trip later. It probably could have done it in one shot, but I didn't want to risk the tire being damaged in the first place.

it's not just this inflator - all these mini inflators are not meant to be used for more than a few minutes at a time - they will damage your cigarette lighter from the power draw and they get hot - the ones that are not direct drive are also loud

after trying a couple of different ones I just carry a good quality vertical bicycle floor pump and it only takes a couple minutes to pump up car tires from 25 to 32psi

you couldn't even use these electrical ones to pump up a tire from zero to full pressure, it would certainly get damaged

this is also why never buy one that is "integrated" into an all-in-one device because when it goes, you just have a heavy piece of junk to tote around for the flashlight, etc.
