User Control Panel / Profile Feedback Thread

Thanks for trying out the new User Control Panel and Profile Pages. Here is a brief outline of the new features and functions. We hope you enjoy this update, as it will provide a more streamlined way to control your settings and view people's profiles. This upgrade will provide the changes necessary for us to roll out even more features that will be coming soon, such as revised Deal Alert System.New Public and Private Activity Streams

• New Public and Private Lists
• New Profile Pages
• New Control Panel
• Updates to Private Messages (including refined Search features)
• Easier ways to access Reputation, Voting History, and Mod Alert History

Please use this thread to provide feedback and bug reporting thread for the newly redesigned User Control Panel and Profile Pages.

Please let us know if you encounter any bugs or errors, please post here and include the following:

• Description of the bug
• Steps to reproduce the bug
• Operating System Version
• Browser Version

Privacy Questions:

By Default, The following things CAN NOT be seen by others:
-Your Private Messages
-Your Warnings
-Your Mod Alerts
-Your Notifications (such as Deal Alerts)
-Your List of Deal Alerts
-Your List of Subscribed Threads
-Your List of Ignored Threads
-Your List of Thread Stickies

By Default, The following CAN be seen by others:
-Your public posts/threads
-Your public quotes
-Your public votes
-Giving Reputation Points (comments are not shown in the stream)
-Receiving Reputation Points (comments are not shown in the stream)
-Your Friends

The following are public IF YOU CHOSE TO SET THEM AS PUBLIC IN THE OPTIONS.
-Custom Lists (new feature), if you set them to public.
-Voting History, if you set it to public
-Reputation History, if you set it to public.

In Addition, the following changes and updates have been made:

• Added settings so you can hide things from your public activity stream. You can also get the link when you view your public activity stream. This will not hide existing ones, you'll need to remove them individually.
• Compacted the notifications on the usercp page to 5. If you want to see more, you can click more to direct you to the full notifications page.
• You can still view your private activity stream by clicking on it.
• Bumped up the font size of the notifications.
• Avatars have replaced profile pictures.
• Groups and Albums have been deprecated. Please move your conversations elsewhere.
• The Midnight Theme has been deprecated.
• UserCP has been replaced with two links: "Notifications and Activity" and "My Subscriptions". The "My Account" tab should now be the primary way to access your pages.
• Users have now been upgraded to a 5000 message inbox.

helppppppp! you just switched out the User CP without warning, while I was writing a PM. I don't know how to get to anything. How do I find my subscribed threads? How do I find what's read or unread?

And the white and gray display settings? I can't read anything!!! HELPPPPPPPPP! I'm on SD and I'm totally lost!

i don't like it

i mean, there's no bugs to report or anything, but i just don't like the way it looks - i use the User CP like 90% of the time to track the threads i normally post in, and for me, it is more cluttered

how does one find one's unread subscribed threads/threads with new messages now? i'm just trying to get to my threads. someone please help me, i have stuff i need to finish!

i'm just going in circles here, i can't find anything here. there's a whole bunch of stuff in that unreadable gray page, but none of it is useful for me. i just need to get to the page that listed my threads, because that's what I use 99% of the time to get to threads I need to post in or read posts in, or reps I need to reply to etc.

i don't understand how to navigate SD beyond the front page anymore! helppppppppp!

I think that once you give it a try and get used to the new layout, you'll find its far easier to use.

Subscribed threads are still in the same place, but you can now also access them in your usercp on the left hand side where it says "Subscribed Threads" and in the "Notifications and Activity" section.

YUCK. Didn't work for Facebook, not gonna work here.

You're probably talking about http://slickdeals.net/forums/usercp.php - the location of that hasnt changed.

These new changes allow for us to implement new features like custom lists, activity streams, and the upcoming Deal Alerts changes. Also, to be honest with you, VB's forum options were very cluttered.

OK seriously, i don't like the Activity Stream. i don't care to know what i just replied to, who i just sent a PM to, etc - how do i hide the Activity Stream?

Stop changing the design every year, would you? It takes 365 days for me to learn how to use the new features.

Just dont visit the activity stream page then?

We're working on placing the "New Posts in your Subscribed Threads" into the Subscribed Threads area, so that it appears in both places, just based on the quick feedback

Cool. was just looking at that custom list thing and couldn't figure out what the heck it does or what purpose it serves.

Any FAQ on the new stuff ???
